That's because modern music, and popular music especially (I'm lumping in all popular genres here from rock to rap and not just the sugary bubblegum crap that is pop) is dominated by the output of major studios and the vision and constructs of a few producers hand picking, forming and moulding everything on a production line. Talent is immaterial. All that matters is "look" the rest is done in a studio. that's why most of these idiots lipsynch when they show up "live". Many of the most modern stars owe their careers to Autotune.
It's industrial output that will only become more homogenised as AI plays a bigger and bigger role.

Youtube offers one of the few outlets left for people who can actually sing and play instruments to be heard and seen by an audience.
There's nothing really like genuine human creativity.

This song sung by an entire stage full of young women in their late teens and early 20s.
