Well, last night I finally watched Beyond the Wall (I had tried to view the leaked version, but the sound was so poor, that I shut it down over the titles and waited a few days for the broadcast version instead).

I have read reviews that criticize Season 7's pace as being too fast in how it unravels the story, as opposed to the long narrative build-up of the previous seasons.

I have to say that I don't agree with this criticism: the tempo works just fine for me.

Some epochal events take place in this episode, characters and relationships are more finely defined, and some major changes take out important characters.

Here we finally understand the sense of urgency behind Jon's cry for help in fighting the White Walkers, as well as a significant new addition to their force.
