It's a fair question. I think you'll find that the definition of 'community' will vary a lot here from person to person. For me, however, it's quite simple. It means participating in the discussion aspects of the forum-- primarily General Discussion and it's subsections, Sports, Games, or basically anywhere that discussions can be had. I want the members to whom I grant titles to be seen, and if they participate in the forum, that goal is reached. But I think a title must be earned in some way or another.

I don't discriminate against content-only posters. For them, I mainly judge them by their number of thanks given. To me, that is a reflection of community spirit. If you post content and never thank a post, you've participated in nothing. You've just dumped your links and moved on to the next forum. But if you take the time to thank posts (and you stay out of trouble), that means something.

It has nothing to do with the number of posts, but it does have more to do with activity and participation. I also look at the join date, the user's rap sheet, and so on. I just see it all and make my judgement, expecting users to mod themselves. And I don't say 'no' often-- if I do, I'll set up a goal and work with them on it.

Let's take you for example. A pretty slim rap sheet, both content and discussions posts. You're on your way. If you got your thanks up to 1000, you'd get your title in a heartbeat.

Thanks, SaintsDecay - you (with an assist from ww2flyer) definitely answered my question.

I've been fortunate in my time as a member to receive assists from several mods, VIPs, and senior members to help me on my way. Hopefully I can pass the favor along to newer members down the road.

Bears here I doubt many grew up farther up north than I did.

The addicted title is separate from the titles that Saints gives out . That particular title will change when your post count increases.

Soon2BFit is correct. The 'Addicted' title is relative to your number of posts, and I can't change that.

I've seen you around a lot, and I believe I've gotten quite a few thanks from you (thanks for that). But I've got a rough standard of requiring 1,000 thanks given before I give someone a title.

Get it up to 1,000, and you'll get your title.
