It is normal. Small hypnofetish sites (those that draw hypno comics and those that record hypnofetish movies, both of them) are very aware that their job is being shared for free in forums like this, and due to they are little businesses, they have nobody to protect them for this except themselves.

That is something very interesting that I would wish to discuss. I have recently read a thread where lot of hypnofetish stuff is shared. That thread has lot of pages, and in one of them a guy who claimed to be Steve Steele (For those that do not know, steve steele is a little hypnofetish fake movie producer. I say fake because there are some people that only consume real hypno fetish movies) demanded to erase his movies that were uploaded there. He claimed that filesharing hurts very much little businesses like his, and he assured that most of the people who usually visit that type of forums are people who are interested in hypnofetish but that they simply do not want to pay. I agree with him in his first argument, but I do not with the second one. I think in the oppossite way. I am almost sure that most of the people (me included) that consume those products consum them because they can be accessed for free. If they could not access to those products for free, be sure that most of them do not think about buying them. This is a mentality that is appearing nowdays thanks for the internet. I am not saying this as a blame. The thing I want to say is that lot of the things that are downloaded from internet (music, comics, movies, games...) are downloaded because they are available, not because those who download are interested on them. Last year, Nintendo made a raid in a store of Spain and seized 1130 M3 REAL flashcard. Then, the president of Nintendo Spain assured that "All the downloads that the game Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?, had had would have been purchases if there were not any copy on the net". I think that thi is not true. I think that this game only have lot of downloads because it was just available. But if it was not, the people who were interested on download it would have passed. Are you agree with my opinion? Sorry of this off-topic, but I thought that this was the best place to post this. |

On the other hand download DOES harm sales; but as you said, 100.000 illegal downloads doesn't necesseraly mean 100.000 potential buyers. This goes to porn as well; whether it's comics, movies, pictures or anything else, millions of downloads doesn't mean that you lost exactly the same number of buyers... |

In this cases, I am in favor of something like comissions. Someone pays for something and the author creates it for him. And later the owner (not the author) can decide if he wants to share this with everyone through the net or keep it just for him. As I said at the beginning, selling copies of something that is not physical is not a good business. Because they can be accessed by lot of ways that you no way think that can be illegall. Think about it. Other important fact is that when we buy one of those type of products, we are not buying the products itself, but a quite expensive license of use. Said in other words, we buy the right to use those products in a very restricted number of ways. Well, I do not know if I have explained myself correctly. English is not my mother tongue, so I beg your pardon if you see that I am doing lot of mistakes that difficult the understanding of the text. |
