Michelle Wild did NOT work in the medical field after porn, she ACTED in a Hungarian TV soap opera with a hospital theme.

"Jóban-rosszban" (means "Good times, Bad times") was one of the longest running shows on Hungarian TV. Michelle (Katalin) had a recurring character as a nurse for three years.



That said, you are correct in the suggestion that after-porn Michelle Wild has been treated MUCH differently than after-porn Gauge.

Although Michelle (Katalin) has now stepped away from the public eye, she was and still is considered a celebrity in Hungary. like Sasha Grey in North America, but more respected.

Perhaps that does show the difference between Europe and the U.S. when it comes to prevailing attitudes on sex and pornography.

However, I also think it has a lot to do with the person and the setting.

From what I have seen of Hungarian media, Michelle (Katalin) is a very charismatic and media-savvy person. Well-spoken, intelligent, positive, comfortable and engaging on camera (in a non-sexual way).

She has done countless "mainstream" appearances in Hungary. Talk shows, interview segments, both as subject and as host. Cameo appearances and commercials.



Michelle Wild was even part of a promotion for a Hungarian education organization! Yes, the woman you can watch in hard DP action was presented as face of a stay-in-school campaign.

She is so charming, she has been guest on Hungarian morning television multiple times.

When Michelle had her daughter and announced she was leaving the spotlight, the media was very sympathetic.



Okay, now compare that with Gauge.

From what I know about Gauge, she does not have those qualities. She is a self described "redneck" from Arkansas with an abrasive, combative personality. When she was in the porn industry, there was constant drama around her and she was often in legal trouble.

Even now, you can go on Gauge social media and find her ranting.

Gauge's life is situated in Christian conservative Southern U.S.A. and that environment will never accept her. But that does not seem the only reason her after-porn life has been so troubled.

This is very true. While overall it's worse in America, I think who and where you are plays a HUGE difference. Still yet though, take the case of Tiffany Six.

She was a school teacher in Los Angeles. You know... where a lot of the porn was made up until the condom law that happened about the same time she was discovered. She was fired for doing porn. She appealed the decision, but I don't think she got her job back.

That being said, she was doing porn at the same time as being a school teacher so that might have been a big reason why. Not sure if she got her job back. But I'd probably say this is the most high profile case in America so far.

So even in the same literal city she was doing porn in, she was fired from being a teacher for it. That's why I brought it up in an earlier post. I remember that job specifically. It's fair to say I've read other accounts of school teachers being fired because of the fact that the education system in America is full of busybody enforcers of morality. Anything to do with kids in America is basically run by these people.

Consider the violence in TV and Video Games debates. They were pretty much the only side wanting them banned. No one else really wanted such extreme measures taken except them.

This makes a lot of sense. As much as I kinda like her, most of her stuff I don't like. I feel the fact that she did such extreme and frankly put trashy work kind of falls in line with who she is. Not to be too judgemental here, but the fact she had the tendency to always do just the craziest stuff on film virtually all the time lines up with the trailer trash image she puts out. As someone from one of those areas in America, it's fair to say it follows (this isn't to say ALL the girls that did stuff like her are like that. Just that it isn't surprising considering who she is).
