I just finished watching Yesterday's Enterprise. I really like the twist on TOS's "Edith Keeler must die." In this case Tasha Yar must die (again) and..... What other characters have died twice in the "series'"?

There are a lot of bonus interviews and documentaries etc on the blu ray's. I watched one with Denise Crosby where she discusses why she left the show. She said she was dying on the show, she could not imagine herself in this role season after season. She just couldn't continue on the show; she met with Gene Roddenberry and asked if she could be killed, written off the show, and he completely understood and agreed. She hated the grind of the show, she hated being in the same role.

And that's what I like about the series as opposed to the movies: more emotion, more substance, more sci fi, less action. My action requirements are met in the series.

I imagine the new series, Discovery, appeals to you? I watched the first season and lost interest after that. I felt that it was more like the movies than the series; maybe an in between of the two.

I can't believe the quote I just heard on a Next Gen bonus documentary I am watching. I immediately thought of your desire for more action.

Ronald Moore, who wrote 27 episodes on Next Gen, recounted his first meeting Patrick Stewart. It was a quick informal meeting on set. Ronald was introduced as the writer of the episode being shot.

Patrick asked him what else he was doing for them to which Moore told him about having just sold The Defector an episode about a Romulan Defector.

Patrick Stewart: "Oh wonderful just remember one thing. The Captain doesn't do nearly enough screwing and shooting on the show." And he walked away.

It seems Patrick Stewart agrees with you. More action..... Funny.

I can't believe I never heard about this! How the hell did I miss this? I love Shatner doing a documentary on Next Generation. I have only watched a bit of it, what I did watch was really really good, fascinating. When I have time I am going to watch from start to finish.

I did start doing some searching after watching the bit I did and stumbled upon this article about the making of the first Star Trek movie, The Motion Picture. I was unaware of the major problems with the movie's production. (so much behind the scenes drama with Star Trek)

Yeah I've seen that one. I'm trying to remember where I saw it? I really like Shatner when he is goofing a bit, down to earth.

It was really bothering me, searching my memory, where I had seen The Captains? Now I remember, it was on Epix cable channel that I used to have. Epix plays Star Trek movies back to back to this day; not constantly but enough that I notice when I search for something to watch.

I saw the Director's Cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture on Epix; about 10 minutes longer. There is also a Director's Cut of The Wrath of Kahn and The Undiscovered Country.

I have been searching for HD of the Director's Cut of Motion Picture and Undiscovered Country. The DVD is not available no more and don't think there is a Blu Ray of them. I even look online on those free movies sites. No luck.
