AAA is unwatchable for me. Camera work is poor, that advertising is distracting as fuck, the shenanigans feel somewhat retarded, allow fam in the ring, which I detest seeing anywhere in sport and feels like most get fatigued in about five mins.

Omega losing would have made sense. He had his head planted at velocity onto a chair the night before, it's a great out. I saw the match though and you wouldn't have even known. He might not have a good excuse when he actually does lose. Quote:
Oh well done Page, great timing. Super over and now he got a little one to look after. Maybe he'll turn into a ponce like Mox has. Cowboy muck. |

OK, so that Britt Baker post I mentioned is still coming. Got some more bullet points tonight from the next episode of Dark, so that in itself is a spoiler I guess.
The short version is I think Britt would have had the loudest pop of the night if that Punk didn't show up. |

The first time I watched a weekly wrestling show in nearly two years and it's the night that CM Punk debuts in AEW. What a time to return.

Aside from CM Punk, I'm happy that AEW signed Jamie Hayter recently. I love her.

Why is wrestling still gender divided?
Considering how trending intergender wrestling is in the indie circuit (look up some matches on YouTube), I still don't understand why it's not more accepted by big promotions like WWE or AEW, you know, not counting the few one-off match here and there. I was hoping they would spice things up, you know? I was kinda hoping to see an intergender match for Summerslam this year, or probably even a mixed Royal Rumble. Some wrestlers had even voiced their opinions on intergender wrestling, such as Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler, one of whom also talked about wanting a shot at a man's title. If they have the gall to through with it, they could work the intergender angle into storylines and feuds. I'd recommend checking out these videos as well:

They started singing his song too... why has this got to be a trend? Fuck you Sammy for starting this shit. I'm sure it's great when you're there but translating through the TV is a different story, for me at least. It just seems to be me for some reason lol. It's like horrific public church singing. And that Jungle Boy "singing" gets so fucking worm holed it's fucking irritating.

Spoilers for this week's AEW Dark for the people who watch it, at least in terms of whos on it. Although considering how most Dark matches go, you probably know who wins anyway.
We're about halfway through the Dark matches, everyone is pretty much getting the appropriate response. QT Marshall got the shit booed out of him, he responds by telling the crowd that they're #1. PAC is a reluctant face, no matter how much Fenix tries. Dark Order is still over despite how much they've been losing. And then instead of a ref+local talent we get good old Tony Schivone announced. So Britt Baker is introduced, with Rebel and Jamie Hyter in tow. Huge pop, easily the loudest of the night before Ramage starts, crowd is into the DMD and all that. She says it's great to be in Brit-cago or something and how we can honor the great athletes and moments that happened here before. Namely her showing up, walking down the ramp and standing in the ring. A classic heel promo all the way and it's getting cheers. Then Jamie starts hyping her match for Wednesday when Red Velvet hits the ring to a round of boos. A bit of 2.5v1 beatdown happens from the heels when out comes Kris Statlander, a MUCH more established face, to make the save. That led to a bit of neutral/rethinking from the crowd. But not enough to really outweigh the cheers for Britt. I feel this is mainly a Britt Baker problem within AEW because while they have other very popular heels, the cheering stops once they start doing the standard heel things. I think part of the problem is that for most of it's existence, the AEW women's champion has been a face who wasn't cutting promos. Riho really couldn't at the time and they weren't letting Shida do them, despite her putting in the time to learn English. So now we have someone who's above average on the mic with a shiny catchphrase and the crowd doesn't care if she's a heel. And with her most likely getting Statlander next, it's probably not changing until we get that inevitable rematch with Thunder Rosa. And yes, the Punk pop was the loudest I've ever heard, it got to ear-ringing at one point. The ice cream bar probably felt better than it was because of how emotionally/physically drained I felt after the show. |

So let's look forward, first match back for CM Punk is against Darby Allin. Who should win?
