LOL! Too true After I watched someone's DVD, I was like Damn! I have to see what they cut. So I got the 4K + BluRay Super Cut to force myself to take the plunge on a 4K TV and Player. I'm anxious to watch 4K porn in true quality Maybe Santa will bring me the electronics I need

I highly recommend getting The Matrix Trilogy 4K set, if you like The Matrix universe, and you still haven't done so, already, my sweet fellas. As it also comes with all the 3 movies, completely remastered from the new 4K scans, on regular Blu and they also feature brand new surround mixes on Dolby Atmos-TrueHD 7.1, as well, which is a very great update over the old TrueHD 5.1 mixes, and it's also loaded with lots of brand new bonus features as well
This boxset is getting sold as candies. If you happen to find a good deal, don't let this one pass on.
It's definitely worth it. And it's probably the best set of this entire year.

D0rc3l shoots some very good True 4K stuff that looks fantastic on my 4K telly with HDR on.
You might start downloading some of his recent releases from 2017-2018 to have a little taste, while you wait to get everything you need.
They even look great on a 1080p monitor, and even on my iPad Retina.
No loss of details at all. Everything's crystal-clear

I saw that in the Walmart Black Friday bins but there is only one problem, I don't have the gear to view 4K discs. Honestly there comes a time when a consumer like myself reaches the breaking point after investing in ever changing formats.

Over the years I have had movie libraries in Beta, VHS, DVD and now Blu ray.
I'm past tired of investing thousands in a new format just because that's what is popular now. In five years or so we will have holographic media and then who knows. In short being a consumer trying to keep up with the latest trends is very tiring and bank-rupting.

Also you have to ask yourself regarding picture quality, what is good enough?
For me it's DVD and Blu ray.

I only ever had recorded off of TV movies on VHS and music cassettes in my childhood and pre-teen years, that I would buy every once in awhile, before switching to CDs and DVDs and so forth. I didn't even knew about Laserdiscs and Beta at all, at the time.
But, yeah. I agree with you about keeping up with the latest trends being very tiring and bank-rupting, somewhat.
I, for example, didn't even bother with HD-DVD, back in the day, and I passed on the "3D craze", as well as with the new audio codecs (Atmos/DTS:X/Aural). And it took me over 8 years, before getting a new computer.
I just can't, nor I really want to spend $2000 or more on a brand new A/V Receiver or PC/smartphone every year (for that matter) and I'm also not too very fond about filling my entire living room with 13-20 speakers and having cables everywhere, just to have that "immersion" feeling. It's just crazy. And definitely not something to have in a 100 metres room. I don't know how some people can have that much speakers, and keep volume levels low to avoid disturbing their neighbors.
5.1 or 7.1 is already enough for me, and for some people. As it's already very hard to keep volume levels, during certain hours of the day, at normal levels (thanks to the studios for maxing everything at +10db, and thanks to DTS for not allowing "Night Mode" audio settings on Receivers, like Dolby does, to avoid sudden outbursts of loud sounds) to avoid disturbing neighbors and people that live with me. And it's already more than "immersive", to me, honestly. 13-20 speakers is a tad of an overkill. And loud volume levels are just inevitable.
I also have a good pair of 9.1 surround sound wireless Sony headphones, that I can use and connect as physical speakers on my Onkyo A/V Receiver (thanks to the HDMI connection that they have, and thanks for having actual dedicated speakers for each ear). And they sound just fantastic, with everything I throw at them. So I'm all good about surround sound.
As for 4K, as a physical format, I'm still not very sure if it will ever replace DVDs or regular Blu's. It might be a good digital download standard. But as far as actual physical discs/components goes, I'm sure it will remain a niche thing. Just like 3D and surround sound music have always been.
Some releases definitely cost a huge load of moneys, comparing to their regular Blu counterparts. Not to mention the lack of cheap standalone players, and all the anxiety they bring to have everything setting up correctly, in order to be ok with the frustrating DRM standards/copy protections schemes they come with.
So, for now, for me, 4K is still not something definitive. But only an "experiment", limited to only a cheap M-Disc Blu-Ray PC drive that can read these discs as data Blu-Rays and that I can use it to Rip/backup the discs I buy on my 4TB external drive, and watch them over my 4K TV, and just a very few spare titles/boxsets that don't cost a fortune.
But I'm definitely not going to double-dip or replace my already huge 1080p Blu-ray collection. That's for sure.

I have one of the standard SATA ones, that I mounted on a USB enclosure (the Icy-Box) to use as my 2nd backup HDD.
WD makes some really great internal HDDs. I had this drive since January....still working good. Can't say the same for their laptops HDDs and NAS drives, though.
Had 2 of them failing on me after only 4 months of very light use.
Hope yours will last for at least 3-4 years
