Angelcorpse - Hammer of Gods (1996) Blackened death metal. Very neck-breakingly intense, fast. Relentless riffage with a clean, but viscous-sounding tone. The vocals are also excellent, savage, hoarse screams kind-of like Abbath, but deeper. I do believe this band is who first coined the terms "war metal" and "bestial black metal" as well, though I may be wrong on that.

Triarii - Exile (2011) German martial industrial. Pretty much the only electronic music I'm into. Really oppressive, doomy, war-filled atmosphere that inspires images of Roman troops marching to battle and expanding the Republic through bloodshed under their flying banners and legionary standards. Really cool stuff. Probably the strongest war-atmosphere I've ever heard in music.
