Veteran porn star Victoria Paris passed away from cancer
TRAGIC LOSS Porn star Victoria Paris dead at 60 – Adult film actress dies of cancer as co-stars pay tribute to veteran performer. AWARD-winning adult star Victoria Paris died last week at age 60. Paris, who first entered the adult entertainment industry in 1988, passed away on Tuesday after a battle with cancer, according to AVN. Paris first entered the adult entertainment industry in 1988 Tributes from friends and colleagues poured in after news of Paris's death spread. Director Axel Braun recalled Paris starring in the first movie he wrote in 1990, Fantasy Nights. "I wrote the lead specifically for her because she was very classy and had an aura of innocence that fit perfectly with the story I wanted to tell," he said. "When I first met her at the table reading she told me that, just like myself, she didn't smoke, drink or do drugs, which was very unusual for the times, and I immediately noticed that she was extremely professional, personable and meticulously prepared, which is something that definitely helped make that production smooth and pleasant. "I bumped into her several times over the years at the Cannes Film Festival, because she loved to travel and she enjoyed the finest things in life. And from my experience with her, she was one." Paris tied for AVN's Best New Starlet award with Tori Welles in 1990. She also took home several AVN awards the following year and again in 1992. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 1997. She was featured in over 100 adult films during her career, according to AVN. Some of her most well-known films include The Chameleon, Beauty & the Beast II, The New Barbarian, and The Seduction of Mary, according to the outlet. News of Paris's death comes after the adult entertainment industry was shocked by the deaths of two of its young, popular stars earlier this summer. Porn star Dakota Skye, 27, was found dead in a trailer in LA in June after reportedly struggling with an addiction to fentanyl. Fellow star Dahlia Sky, 31, died in an apparent suicide in July. The adult actress was reportedly battling stage four breast cancer prior to her death, leading to her suffering from depression. Credit Info from Code:

Don Everly Passes Away
Don Everly, half of one of rock’s earliest and most influential harmony groups, the Everly Brothers, died Saturday in his Nashville home at the age of 84. A rep for the singer confirmed his death to the Los Angeles Times. A cause of death was not immediately known. “Don lived by what he felt in his heart,” Everly’s family said in a statement to the Times. “Don expressed his appreciation for the ability to live his dreams … with his soulmate and wife, Adela, and sharing the music that made him an Everly Brother.” Starting with 1957’s “Bye Bye Love” and continuing for five more years, the Everlys ruled the pop and country charts with 15 Top 10 hits, including “Wake Up Little Susie,” “All I Have to Do Is Dream,” and “When Will I Be Loved.” Although many of their songs were written by outside writers, Don, the more prolific of the duo, penned three of their finest songs: the rollicking “Cathy’s Clown,” “(‘Til) I Kissed You” and the forlorn “So Sad (to Watch Good Love Go Bad).” In most cases, Don sang lead, with Phil’s wispier, more velvety harmonies wrapping around his brother’s. The resulting blend, steeped in country music, Appalachia, and early rock & roll, impacted on nearly every harmony-based band that followed, including the Beatles, the Mamas and the Papas, the Hollies and Simon & Garfunkel. But the Everlys’ influenced never waned. The brothers were among the first acts inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2013, just a few months before Phil Everly’s death in January 2014 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones released a collection of Everly covers in honor of the brothers. |

^^^^^ There are deaths that sadden you and then there are those that make your cry and fill you with emptiness, this one is the latter.
I wasn't fortunate enough to watch them make an immeasurable impact on the world, in fact I didn't understand that impact until nearly 50 years after they first came on the scene in the early 60's. The list of condolences coming in is literally a who's who of music that both he and his band mates influenced to make them great as well. Charlie wasn't just a drummer in the Rolling Stones, he was the anchor and the glue that held them together for all these years of giving us joy. Not the best drummer in the world but a giant as a human being. Even fighting cancer in 2004 barely slowed him down from doing what he loved and that is what the world will miss most. His legacy will live on long after his wonderful 80 years of life. I would venture to guess that he died with the same smile on his face that he lived with all those years. RIP dear sir, you will never be forgotten. The music world just got a little bit smaller. |
