![]() And if you want to live forever, keep your nose clean... dont want to get thrown in jail for a lifetime sentence or something like that.

![]() Noah and Metusalem became like 800 y.o. No one in my family has lived longer than to 88.
Dad died when he was younger than I am now. My hopes are sort of realistic. |

![]() Personally, I wouldn't mind a longer life span but to live forever, I don't think I would want to. The immortality issue is one that is fascinating and one that raises many questions.
Who will have access to it ? Who CAN have access to it ? Will authorities allow it's citizens to choose or will authorities gradually enforce it? What about the work force in impoverished communities around the globe? It would undoubtedly benefit big business because their workers would never die. |

![]() I'll take my immortality in smaller chunks, thank you very much.
![]() ![]() I'd like to stay female, but if I'm to spend the rest of my days as a pasty white Alien that sounds like an Englishman, well...Geronimo. ![]() |

![]() Not sure what a 'cronut' is. I'd say there's a good chance of "50 Shades of Gray", Woody Allen, and reality TV being talked about fifty years from now. The rest, though, is just immediate memory. But the truth is, I don't know that much has happened in my lifetime that is worth remembering for generations. The Berlin Wall coming down, the WTC bombings, the wars in the Middle East, the uprising of piracy-- that's about it. But the media hasn't really unleashed anything extraordinary. Maybe a few films with a cult following, but nothing really huge or original. Who are the great musicians of the 2000s' that people of my generation will want to see play stadiums in 2050? There are bands that I like, but with the current state of the industry, I don't know that any of them will even stay together for ten years. And the ones that do change so much with the trends that they're unrecognizable from album to album. We have no Stones or Aerosmith in my era. Of course, The Who sold out at one point too in order to appeal to the Mod fad in the UK, yet my generation sees it in one shrink-wrapped image. Will discographies be seen the same way for bands like Linkin Park? The transition from "Meteora" to "Minutes to Midnight" was massive, but will it be such a huge thing to a new listener? It's questions like these that make me want to live forever. Quote:
I still say staying off the grid would be the best option. Quote:
And then, in the Middle Ages, the average life expectancy was something like 23 due to the Black Death. Ironically, or perhaps not so much, that was around the time myths about The Fountain of Youth came about. It's only when we're surrounded by death that we fantasize so heartily about living forever. We know we're going to die, but sometimes it easier to live like there are 10,000 tomorrows in front of us. |

Soon or later, "off the grid" won't work anymore Even if you do it the real way "Buttnaked" style No fire, raw food, nomad style, no tech, etc... Forest bum style They will catch you You're the 10 bazillion dollar man, once your secret is known, you're fucked, it's just a matter of time The easiest way is to put a $100 000 000 reward on your ass and soon or later a boba fett will find you And honestly, what's the point of being the immortal forest bum ? lol And if you can't claim "ho yeah baby, I'm the one" Then you're just like any other loser 1:13>>>>1:29 LOL Now if you're somekind of unkillable thing like the T-1000 ... It's another story Immortality Which kind ? |
