Being a guy, though, I didn't exactly have a porn backdrop to fall on being that I don't have a 12' dick and I don't look especially pretty. At 14, I started working in feed lots. Porn girls have that same choice. They can do what they want to do, and I'm certain it's easier with a pretty face, or they can do what's the easiest. If you're hot, you'll find someone to exploit you pretty easily. People who are born into bad situations can rise above the crawl, and people who generalize piss me off when they say otherwise. There is always a choice. If you wanted a real job, you could put in an application and bug the hell out of the hiring manager, but you didn't. Sure, nobody dreams of being in porn as a little kid, but you put yourself there. Maybe it's your dreams of having pretty shoes, maybe it's watching your family rot while you're in luxury as your asshole heals, but you put yourself in that moment of the meantime.

From what I have read the average girl makes far less then those rates. The article says the pay rates are for an "in demand" actress so in other words the top tier girls like Lisa Ann,Gina Lynn or Remy LaCroix. The vast majority of porn girls probably make 1/2 to a 1/3 of those quoted rates.

Nope. Just a flat fee when they shoot the scene. Its a ripoff really.

Only girls that do well make their own production company and shoot their own cam shows. But you gotta become super popular/famous to build a name for yourself for that to happen.

I had no idea what I was doing either. It was just a chain of random events and one conscious declaration that I was never going back to where I came from and turn out like all the rest. I think that is why a lot of chicks do porn-- because it offers the shrouded promise that you can get out of the abyss. The world will eat them alive either way. They've got porn on their records, I've got a felony, but I still found my calling and they can too. There is hope for broken souls-- it may not be what is expected, it may not fit into society's norms, but why should it?

Girls like Sasha Grey and Stoya actually do (er, did) enjoy sex and I honestly think porn was perfect for them. That is their calling. For most girls in the industry, though, I just don't buy it. And really, I'd rather watch porn with girls who do like it.
