Just maybe... maybe one of these the people who go into porn will be somewhat sound and sane people who go into it like professional athletes enter their professions. They enter their profession, make some decent quick cash (because their bodies will break down over time), and then somehow ceremoniously exit it with some measure of quiet dignity. There will be a few who can still perform admirably well beyond the norm but those will be the exceptions who've kept themselves fit (mentally & physically).

But I also know that I might be wishing for something unachievable here because it seems as though so many of the people who enter this profession have some quirk about them that makes it difficult for them to re-integrate back into society. Granted I don't know what it'd be like to my ego to be told by the time you're 40ish, you're on the downward slope of your career- if not completely done with by that point. How does one rejoin the masses with that sort of past?

For the few that have somehow had the backbone to quietly and seamlessly slipped back into the real world, I applaud them. They've managed to put their slightly racy past behind them and have been able to live pretty regular mundane lives. Some have decided to get out of being in front of the camera and get behind the scenes by directing, producing or some other aspect of the business. Kudos to them as well if they're sharp about the business and can compete in that arena.

What's sad are the ones that obviously end up dead, strung out on various substances or end up hooking for peanuts. There's something really sad about the ones hooking because we all know they're using some of that clout that they had back in their day as a star as a lure. I can only imagine what my favorite stars looked like now as opposed to their prime- it can only be a slight disappointment at best.

For the stars themselves and for my re-collection of their images in my head, I'd just like to think that the smart ones got out on top and are doing well. I'm sure gravity & wrinkles have taken their toll on even the smartest of them- and I don't need to see their pics today to re-affirm that. I just want to wish them well for providing some fun moments for all of us who enjoy this form of entertainment.
