Brooke Haven:

Haven said once the news about the positive HIV test broke Tuesday, she rushed to check her last test to make sure she had not misread the negative result.

"Officials at the Sherman Oaks health clinic that performed the testing have declined to identify the performer, citing medical privacy laws, and that has kept anxiety high. I understand it to an extent, but I don’t know if I agree with it, really. Especially in our industry, I think we all have a right to know”

“It’s a little scary, and all we can do is wait, and while we are waiting our minds are constantly running a million miles a minute.”

“Of course, everybody’s health is a priority.… Everybody should retest this week. The best we can do is all support each other as best we can, and pause production for now, and hope that it’s only one outbreak.”

“And of course we get cast in a bad light. We’re already looked at as … dirty performers, and then an HIV case happens and they’re like, ‘Oh, I knew they were dirty.’ It’s not like that at all. It can happen if you work at McDonald’s. It just happens”

Angela Aspen:

Angela cited a report by AVN.com, a porn industry news website, that the HIV-infected performer is a man who appeared in gay and straight films. Clinic officials have not confirmed the report.

“We’re not mad at the dudes. We’re mad at their industry not requiring testing” “We have to get tested every 28 days. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it.…We want accountability for the other side.”

Aspen said she believed film companies should be able to offer workers’ compensation to protect workers:

“I think the people who can afford to pay the big bills -- if they want to play in the big leagues and hire the big names, they need to have some kind of workers’ compensation to handle what we’ve been seeing in the last week” “Gonorrhea and chlamydia, that stuff can clear up. But with HIV, there is no clear up”

Jeremy Steele:

“Consumers generally don’t want to see condoms. That puts them one notch removed from the moment” “That’s part of the fantasy. That’s part of the allure of porn and we should have the right to choose. I compare it to stunt work. Condom use would would decrease risk in a way...but at the same time the other hallmarks of porn would keep the risk alive.

Basically there will always be an element of risk.

I remember an anecdote of Bisexual Britni's back when she was still around. She wrote (if it was really her doing the actual writing) that she didn't do condom scenes at all. She would go on that odds wise she had more of a chance of getting into a car accident and dying on her way to a scene than catching say HIV.
Now, she also claimed in her swinging stuff in her personal life that condom use was optional, and up to the guys purely. Now naturally the vulnerability to the testing in the industry is exactly that, what a person may be doing outside of their porn work.

On another front, I had heard Marie Luv won't work with anyone who doesn't have valid test dating from the last 7-10 days...rather than the standard of like 30 days.
Course, I don't know when she started that rule in the past.

Jenna Jameson on the current HIV scare:

"It was like a ticking time bomb before something like this happened,"

We'll go a step more have it be Hollywood sex...as in, purely simulated. Only thing real is kissing...which is something that doesn't happen too much in porn anyways.
