If you've got chrome, try Ultimate YouTube Downloader. You can also convert videos to MP3 format as well.

1. Download & install Python 3+
http://python.org/ftp/python/3.3.2/python-3.3.2.msi

2. Download youtube-dl.exe
http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/download.html
And put it in C:\Windows directory so you don't have to setup additional PATH environment variable.

3. Read Documentations, Howtos

4. open a command prompt, read help

5. Go to youtube. Pick a channel or playlist. Pick a target folder/video repository.

6. Go run youtube-dl on that channel/playlist. From your video folder.

youtube-dl -c -f 38/37/22/35/18 --console-title --all-subs -o "%(playlist)s\%(upload_date)s %(title)s.%(ext)s" ytuser:tasted

means: download 4K-mp4 or 1080p-mp4 or 720p-mp4 or 720p-flv, and put it nicely in subdirectories for the channel "tasted"

7. Leave your machine, let it leech. Go talk to your mother, say you love her, ask her wether a particular channel like knitting or cooking that she likes to watch offline, etc.

8. When you're settled with your options and arguments that you use often, setup a batch file if you like.

Save it as youtube.bat, put it in C:\Windows.

Remember to double % inside your script, and double quote your argument when using it.

9. To update: launch command prompt as administrator, go to C:\Windows, run

Updates are often. When you get refusal from youtube. Just update it and retry.

i use Internet download manager, some times use keepvid.
never jdownloader.
but, after i've seen jd's screen caps, i think i'll try it once.

Not only does it download fast, it can convert to avi as it downloads.
