Evesham (Rebadged MSI Laptop) - Windows XP Media Centre (Center?) Edition
Acer Laptop - Windows Vista 32 Cyberpower Desktop PC - Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Toshiba Laptop - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit (Wanted professional, but not an option on the laptop) And yes, I know I have a lot of laptops, the Evesham was slightly damaged just before they went out of business and MSI (UK) don't have spares for it, so it's not much use as a mobile device, is ok sat on a desk though. After switching off some of the more annoying aspects of it, I have found Windows Vista to be reasonably okay, though I prefer 7. I will wait and see how it works out, if it looks like it will be an okay system then I may install it on the Acer as it will be out of warrantee then. |

For entertainment (games, movies, music) i use win7 on the 47" LCD. For my home office, it's a dual boot: either win7/ubuntu depending on my needs. And my laptop? Backtrack 5...always. I agree with XP users in that it is the best OS that Microsoft has put out, but if you're using XP on a newer computer right now, you're missing it.

when you mention vista crappy which version of it did you get. Starter, home, home premium, Business (laptop only) or Ultimate (wasn't there an Enterprise??) have had experience with home premium, biz and ultimate. Ultimate have had problems with , starter or home never touched. bit pointless. Home Premium. not too bad on the thumb generation but the more geeky items I can't play with.
