Armed with Gywnd's info regarding an update being needed for a safe 20H2 feature update, I let my laptop reboot overnight... I'm still here, so I guess things are okay, for now...

On july 7th all versions of windows 10 and EVEN windows 7 rolled out an emergency mandatory patch for a severe issue regarding the printer spool( im not sure what that is, i dont have a printer) but it basically lets hackers rearrange data and access your files completely under your own account. Its an out of band security update that you need immediately, i was asleep when my computer restarted and updated, but make sure you get it. I knew something was up, since i was July 7th and not a tuesday and it forced the update and restart, but like i said its a security 1 time patch, its not part of 'patch tuesday'

Had a big update today and afterwards, every time I put a search into Chrome, it got hijacked by Microsoft Bing. Very annoying, it didn't even ask if I wanted it. Eventually worked out to delete Bing from a list of search engines in the Chrome settings menu. Hope there's no other nonsense awaiting me.
