It blows my mind how many people purport to have knowledge, but actually DON'T. No, they are NOT whores. Prostitutes exchange money for sex/companionship. Adult actresses are exactly that; actresses who act in adult movies.
There is some crossover, with some adult stars also being prostitutes, but they are the exception, not the rule.
&, yes, the few pornstars who DO fuck fans (& aren't also prostitutes/escorts) do it for free. They make their money from the resulting recorded encounters. Some even pay for their fans STI/HIV testing. The only things the fan needs to do is past the health testing, sign the consent form to be recorded, be clean & presentable, & have sex on camera. That's it. No money involved (except their own expenses, like transportation, etc., of course).

^ Actually, a lot more pornstars than the average porn consumer would expect escort. They just don't promote it on their social media.

Maybe half of active performers escort pretty openly (direct through ads or through agencies). A fair number of those started out as escorts and got into porn to boost their escort careers. There's a whole thread about porn escorts here lol. About half of the remainder are some version of UTR, by intro only, whales only, or sugaring (like through seeking). A relative few are hard no's. Sprinkled amongst all these groups are some who will fuck fans just for the fun of it. Adriana Chechik and Katrina Jade were both pretty open about fucking fans and not for content.
