I wish there was a heel as strong as Undertaker when he was in The Ministry or as Big Evil or Triple H at his height as The Game...they were such great heels but right now, that just isn't gonna happen until some young guys who while they my do dumb shit need the push and need the TV time to be hated. And I agree about Rhodes killing of Booker. Iff their feud ends up being booked..get it..Booker booked..hahaha...like that, then it will absolutely pave the way for Rhodes to be a main event heel.

It's awesome, a lot to catch up on again ...
Ziggler: I actually agree that the head-stand stuff hurts him more than helps him, but it's actually one of the main reasons that I like him: it seems like most of the WWE heels are one of three cookie-cutter things: (1) slow talking guys with no real gimmick (Miz, Rhodes); (2) giant monsters (Henry, Kane); or (3) chickenshit hit & run guys (Del Rio). And Ziggler isn't any of those things, he's more of an old-school heel IMHO, and stands out. Plus, he's not from the HHH/NWO "I wanna be a cool heel" school, but he wants to be hated, and he's willing to look like a chump for the faces. The best comparison to me is early Curt Hennig (which is funny, because Hennig's kid is on the roster & I think Ziggler does Hennig better than the little Hennig does.) And he's easily the best bumper in the business right now, which makes every match more fun. Quote:
Jericho: All the people that are pissed about his return, or think it "sucked", are giving him the exact reaction that he wanted, IMHO. His whole gimmick on twitter is to be "a heel" and he's taking that to the WWE rings. To use a 4chan term, he's trolling the WWE universe. We all kept waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting for him to do SOMETHING (good or bad) last night and he just didn't do it. The more I think about it, the more I like it. D. Bryan: As someone that watched (and dug) his heel work in ROH, I'm desperately hoping they give him the chance to do a similar act in the WWE. I don't think it'll work as well as it did in the indies, but it sure beats the current shtick that he's doing. I want to see him bending guys in awkward positions and then raining elbows down on their heads. Barrett: He's just now recuperating from how badly the WWE f'ed up the Nexus angle. He headlined Summerslam AND Survivor Series in 2010, but then the WWE ruined him in 2011. If he hadn't suffered that huge de-push, I'd consider him at worst equal to Ziggler if not ahead of Ziggler, but he's needed some time to re-gain his push. (as an aside, you've got to love the start-stop pushing that the WWE uses for its young talent - no wonder none of them are really over.) I hate to say it, and I don't like to wish injury on anyone, but the best thing (long term) that could happen to the WWE would be for Cena & Orton to both be hurt for a few months, so the writers/bookers actually had to push the new talent. A few months of Punk defending against Ziggler, Jericho, Swagger, and Bryan defending against Rhodes, Barrett, would be a fresh of breath air. (and according to rumors, those that think that the Rhodes/Booker T feud will be a launching point for Cody's career might be disappointed - allegedly, Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes is pushing for a match with his brother at Mania. Eek, I hope that's not the case) EDIT: Sorry for the long-ass post ... I got carried away, I think |

I still don't believe that Michael Mcgillicutty (sp) is Curt's son . Dolph reminded me of Curt straight away just because of the snap mare .
I heard that rumour as well about Dustin wanting Cody at wrestlemania. As long as Cody comes out on top against Booker and if Dustin gets his wish , Cody then kills him too then I can't really see a problem other than not wanting to see that match . I doubt the match will happen but we shall see. stop start pushing is the biggest problem . Jack Swagger could have been a real star now and I always thought he was money before he got the world title . After that it all went downhill. Same with many others. Punk vs Ziggler . I automatically assumed it was a Dolph botch last night because during the match I was distracted and only heard about the messed up stun gun . I didn't actually see it. It would be awesome for Bryan to turn heel and beat the shit out of Cole but then that wouldn't work out so well. Since Cole is hated and being a heel is being hated and that would get Bryan his biggest pop to date. Damn it . sad state of affairs that I 'hate' Cole more than any wrestling heel. |

I liked the Jericho bit....mostly because it wasn't Brock The Crock....so I was happy...I didn't really get it...but I assume it was just to piss people off, which is what Y2J Does.

The way I see it, wrestling mimics the trends of the real world. Ten years ago, there was no way guys like Punk and Orton could've made it in WWE simply because of their appearance. But, as society became more accepting, so did pro-wrestling. I don't believe that there is any one image of what a champion should be. I think the WWE is constantly making that statement, and I don't see the fact that no one has considerable title reigns anymore as being because people have ink. As long as society allows it, there will always be the more clean cut guys and the more expressive guys. There's nothing wrong with that. You know, I'm sure a lot of people said Dusty Rhodes didn't fit the "professional image" either, but he's still highly respected today. |
