I'd never heard of Emily DaVinci until today. Obviously as a scholar she's beyond impressive. Still I would be interested in hearing the backstory of her rise in academia. It appears that she started doing porn years before she began her studies and continued in the business until she was finishing up her program. Needless to say if you're brilliant no one can take that from you, but as a current faculty member at a university and having been on the faculty at a few others, I know first hand that colleagues do gossip and talk, and from time to time there is the occasional "hanky panky" that occurs. I'm not saying that happened with her, at all, but I wouldn't mind having a beer or two with someone that was in her department back then just to hear what they had to say about that situation.
