I'm a Sheamus fan, too. I can't believe how over he is as a face right now, I figured he could be a good face at some point of his career, but not this soon. I think he's a friend of HHH behind the scenes, so he should be in the ME for the foreseeable future.
I also couldn't agree more about how boring/monotonous a lot of the matches have been. The mid-card especially seemed like Groundhog day - how many Smackdowns in a row did, say, Ziggler/Kingston match up last year? Or the Swagger/Bourne matching that eagleeagle mentioned. The matches were good but they just happened so often it was hard to tell them apart. Quote:
And in bad news/good news: Chris Hero, who was supposedly going to FCW to prep for a call-up to WWE, evidently failed his physical for inflated testosterone. But then I heard that he's going to be able to have a retest in a month or so, and should probably pass that one. I like what they've done with the former-Claudio Castagnoli, so am looking forward to Hero joining his former partner and then ultimately in the big leagues. |

Santino I feel is good in the role that he is in. My daughter absolutely loves him...she thinks The Cobra is the funniest thing she's ever seen. In fact we've taken her to two live events in the past year or so and her reaction for Santino rivals her reaction for John Cena. It's strange but true..hahaha
As far as the repetitive match ups go, as long as the guys are putting on good matches, I'll watch. I mean sure, for awhile there it was Swagger v Bourne every week on Raw but they weren't going out there and stinking up the joint so I couldn't really complain. I personally would rather see that then another Kelly Kelly match where she wins with a roll up or a match with Great Khali lumbering around...but that's me |

Eh, I've never really been that into these comedy wrestlers. I mean, they do ultimately contribute to the overall product, but most just don't strike me as funny. Hornswoggle is offensive as hell when it comes to Irish stereotypes, but I think he's probably the best the WWE's got right now in terms of non-wrestling characters. I actually thought it was kind of cool when he would pop out from under the ring and get involved in things, and you'd think it would, but I don't mind him talking now either. I could do without Santino, though.
I could do without the divas too. I mean, they're actually worth watching in TNA, but in WWE they're just sad. You've got Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix and Natalya, and fourteen nameless broads who are ultimately voiceless. I just don't get how people are entertained by that. Natalya probably has the most talent and I like Beth Phoenix, but it's pretty moot seeing as they have no worthy opponents. Kelly Kelly just annoys the piss out of me, though. Every damn week, I hear that annoying-ass theme, and I skip over the divas match. A few weeks later, I'll watch to see if anything interesting happens. Nope, never. Maybe it wasn't any different when I was a kid, but things seemed a bit more interesting with Stacy, Trish, Torrie, and Lita. |

I'd rather see another rko out of nowhere than any of the comedy club or the divas .
Divas to me were like being at work and umbrella by Rhianna comes on again for the 50 time that week but you can't change the radio channel because there are some girls in the corner that think Rhianna is the greatest and they want to listen again while I go insane . At least at home and recording shows gives me the chance to skip them. |

Unless you were being sarcastic (and I missed it), it seemed like you were suggesting that he should be part of the roster clean-up. |

Okay, from what I have read from others, Santino is more of a "promoter ???." I just think as a "promoter, he should not be covered in body paint. Comedy-wrestling or not he should look professional. I am just not a fan of "comedy wrestlers."

I can't say that I hate him, as I don't feel strongly. He does nothing for me at all. I could do without him but he isn't on that often. I don't want to see him mixed up in any main storyline, he is perfect as a jobber, we need more squash matches.
I thought for a minute Zack Ryder was his replacement but they are doing more with Ryder. I know why Snatino is there, that is fine. He is on the Royal Rumble poster. so I know is is only a poster but he is obviously still well liked. Just not by me. |

I figure he's in the WWE for a paycheck; he could be a serious wrestler in the indies or in Japan, and make a lot less money. Or he could put on 2 minute matches and barely-funny comedy skits and make a ton of $$ on merchandise. And the WWE makes more money off of him than they do some more respected wrestlers, so they're just in it for the paycheck, too. And I'll semi-edit myself for something I said earlier; you're right, I don't "hate" him, either ... I just don't like to see him on my TV. He has what they call "X-Pac heat" to me in that I just want him to go away; I don't hate him (as a heel) or like him (as a face) - I just don't want to see him anymore. And I'll admit that I don't necessarily dislike comedy wrestlers/wrestling. Some of the guys in the US indies include comedy in their wrestling (Colt Cabana, Delirious, almost all of CHIKARA) and entire feds in Japan (DDT is the best example) but do so in a way that is actually funny to me. Santino mispronouncing a name and doing a funny walk into the ring just doesn't cut it for me. |
