![]() Back to the discussion on Orton, I stuck with him for years and years just because I thought he had something to offer and because he is a fellow Missouri native, but over the past year or so he has flatlined if you ask me. For me, a guy can be the absolute best in the ring, but that doesn't mean a thing if his character has the charisma of a dead horse. Probably six months ago, Orton's character started changing a bit-- it seemed like the writers were pointing him in the direction of having him lose his mind, but as a face and in a much grittier way than they did with Sting in TNA. I loved that concept, but they ultimately scrapped it before most people could see what it was working toward. Within a week, and since then, I haven't been able to stay awake through anything Orton has done, especially since switching over to Smackdown. No one on that show can entertain me. Barrett has the most potential, but he needs a massive character overhaul. This is my problem with the majority of WWE's talent-- they're not lacking on ability, but jesus fuck, they need at least a small bit of depth. |

![]() Sting did an amazing job with his angle. Obviously he channel the joker (Heath Ledger) but still its been exciting TV. You just didn't know what he was gonna do next and it was fun to see Sting put the screws to Bischoff/Hogan even tho he was/is crazy.

![]() A lot to catch up on again:
IRT the spoilers that eagleeagle posted (and I'll purposely be vague in case people skipped it): I can't wait. I've been calling for it for a while now, so I hope it goes well for all involved. If written right, it could push people up the card. And I agree with eagleeagle: Cena HAS to win @ Mania. You can't push the guy that is only back for a small stretch over the face of the company. Even if it means Cena goes heel at the show, the fact that he's staying around is reason enough to give him the win. And I like Wade Barrett - I wish they hadn't ruined his push with the endings of Nexus & Corre stables. He should be a real main eventer by now but - like Swagger and Ziggler - they've stalled his push. Him going over Orton would help cement his status. |

![]() These guys like Barrett and Ziggler have been held back by long term veterans that dont wanna do the job or horrible booking.
I would love to see Cena destroy the Rock and become a heel. He needs a change of some kind to make his character exciting again. When the top face in your company is getting plenty of boos along with the cheers its time to turn him. Same thing when a heel becomes popular and gets lots of cheers. Thats a sign to have him turn face. |

![]() According to WWE.com, the Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show match for the World Title, set to take place at WWE's TLC PPV, will now be a Chairs Match.

With Barrett, I'm so pleased that he is starting to get the push that he deserves after the shit he had to eat being in The Corre...what a joke that was...hahaha. Even if Barrett doesn't get the W at TLC against Orton, just the fact that he is in a match on the PPV against a main eventer the status of Randy Orton just shows that the company has faith in him and from what I have read, there is talk that they might be including Ziggler in the WWE Championship match somehow turning it into a 4 way dance, continuing the trend of Ziggler competing in 2 matches per PPV. Is the company behind Ziggler? Yes. Are there "long term veterans and horrible booking" trying to keep him down? Shit no. |

![]() Colin brings an interesting point to the table about Cena at Mania, only I would like to add that I don't believe he could even turn in his match with Rocky. Sure, you've got plenty of people booing him (and have for quite some time), but it's still ultimately Face vs. Face. Cena could do the most heelish thing one could do against The Rock, and I don't think the audience would buy it as a turn. Mania wouldn't be the time to do it-- it would have to be before. The thing is, they're working on the fact that Cena is getting booed right now. It's moving far too fast to last until Mania-- I think we're going to see him crack at TLC or maybe even the PPV after that, but it will be soon in my opinion because they've said all one could say (Piper's Pit was a good start) and Cena's already showing weakness.
Now, I know that they're just going to make him pull a cheap R-Truth, but I think what they need to do is form a heel stable with top players. The WWE hasn't done a good one in years, especially with more than two or three wrestlers, and I think it's time to do it. If it's formed soon, that could come into Mania's script in an interesting way. I don't see it happening, but I think it could put a few of the mid-card heels over and make the higher-ups seem much darker. Maybe the return of Kane could play into this. Anyway, just an idea. |

![]() I don't think Cena will ever turn heel . and as usual with my predictions he will probabaly turn next week. one scenario I heard sounds plausible . cnea is half and half. what I mean is stay loyal to the fans htat cheer him and the fans that boo him, tell them to go fuck themselves. however with the pipers pit segment and cena said the fans can do what they want kinda makes that scenario pointless. aww well, just thought I'd ramble a bit

and I too would like a heel stable with top players but like you , I can't see it happening . Nexus had such an amazing start . that was the best end to raw in ages when nexus destroyed cena and it looked like it had real potential, then danielson get s fired and Cena kills the rest of them, taking a ddt on the floor at summerslam and still coming back and beating the opponents with ease, years ago when jake the snake did that to steamboat, steamboat was out for a good while and it was treated like a brutal injury, how times have changed . I still love Cena by the way. on the subject of master bumper Ziggler ( he reminds me so much of Mr Perfect) when he changed his hair color and became an Evan Bourne clone I really feared the worst. Thank goodness they went back to his original look. How much do you want to bet ? |

![]() I think right now Cena is as heel as he's gonna be. It's not the first time we've seen a face v face match at WM, most notably Hogan v Warrior, but this will be the first time one of the biggest faces is being treated like a heel. I personally am looking forward to Rock v Cena mainly because Rock always puts on a great match and with Cena involved as well...it's gonna be good. Even though neither of them are techincal masters by a long shot...I'm a technical wrestling fan...I can only take so many right hand, right hand, right hand!..haha

![]() Understandable. Yeah, I'm pumped about their Mania match as well. Rocky had a fucking awesome comeback at Survivor Series and you know he's got to bring it even more for Mania. I've hated Cena since his character's inception, but I'm not naive enough to think that it won't be a good match. It'll be a fight, that's for sure. You know, I would love to see them take this match to the next level-- a Hell in a Cell match, the old school type. I don't expect to see it since neither Cena or Rocky are the get-bloody kind, but I just want this to be extreme.
As for the heel stable, I did enjoy some of Nexus' time. It was one of those stables in which no one in it was a serious contender (before Punk got involved, anyway), but it was cool to see the pack-of-wolves mentality. I think it would be even better to have a stable with major players, though-- kind of like the NWO/Immortal or Main Event Mafia only with a shorter lifespan than the former. That would really put Cena over as a heel with the fans. Call me a sucker, but growing up I always loved those moments when someone would suddenly turn and a stable would form. It's rare these days, though, but I think it's the only sure-fire way to bring Cena to the dark side. I'd suspect Del Rio would be involved, maybe Rhodes and Miz. Eagle, I'll bet you all the crumpets in Ireland. All seven of them. I just don't see them letting Rocky fade away on a losing match. |
