Pushy door-to-door salespeople.

One came to my place the other day and rang the doorbell despite the posted "No Solicitation" sign. She was a perky cute blonde that was selling carpet & furniture cleaning. She was armed with a small packet of brochures and did not want to take anything short of an appointment from me. She just jumped right into her pitch and wouldn't let me get in a word edge wise. She rattled off all the benefits of what she was selling and just went on and on.

I just had to butt in and say to her that my place has hardwood floors and her vacuum process wasn't suitable for leather furniture. She offered up something of absolute no use to me even if she was giving to me for free.

So why the eff would one waste their time and my time? I wish those hard ass sales tactics would teach them to read a customer or listen. I didn't want to be a hardass but after awhile I just had to shut it down.

My SJW niece and her equally annoying friends coming to visit. Why bother your uncle with nonsense, only to ask for money and/or food when you are ready to leave? I'm not letting her in ever again unless she changes her ways.

Last year, at the end of mowing season, I took my mower in for service. The mower was running terribly.

The service man said it was trash in the fuel line, and he's got it running perfectly now.

Obviously, I haven't used the mower in four months. When I tried to start it today, nothing. Cut my entire yard with a weedeater.

You're not going to spend the entire season weed whacking now are you?

The few things that always got my mowers running over the years has been to 1) clean the spark plug, 2) clean out the air filter (or leave it open as you try to start up the machine), 3) fresh fuel, 4) priming the machine, and then if all of those things don't work- resort to harsh language and cursing up a storm.

And then back to the shop.

I could had swore I posted this reply yesterday:

You should had invited her in and then ask:

"Does your carpet match your drapes?"

and tell her you need a personal demonstration.



We don't get any door-to-door salespeople here except every so often maybe once every couple of months, always on a Saturday or Sunday morning, real early like 8-9 am early, we get the religious idiots.

They are always African, not African American.

If you do open the door, they always start with the line about finding Jesus and helping the poor folks

Then if you look past their shoulder to the street, they always arrive in an expensive SUV:

I have seen Land Rover, Mercedes, BMW.

Once I asked them is that your SUV?

They said yes.

I said then you don't need my donation. You scammed other folks out of their money with the pretense on helping poor people and the only ones you've helped is yourself by using the donations you've received to buy that SUV.
