Sense of accomplishment

I'm going to start today with a "to not to." "To not to" is a Bill Cosby quote, if you don't know the context I, or one of our fellow posters can fill you in.

Ten years ago, two of my co-workers died three weeks apart, November 28 and December 18. The deaths are not related, and the details of both deaths are completely horrific.

At the time I was doing a lot of landscaping in my yard, replacing terrible choices in foliage from the previous owner. In my grief, I named two of the new shrubs, in their honor of course.

In January, we had a freakish cold, killing or maiming several plants in the area. Since May I've realized that one of these shrubs did not make it. Today was the day I pulled it up. I have a "bird plant" set to replace it, but must wait for cooler and wetter weather to perform the transplant.

On the topic of "bird plant," they also decided to plant, by way of my gutter, an invasive grass, suddenly gaining traction at the end of the downspout. This, of course, must be eradicated with poison.

I also cut the grass.

Frequently, I bring home over sized pallets from our warehouse. The 2 x 4s in these pallets I can easily reuse in some of my woodworking projects. Sometimes I can use the cross pieces as well, sometimes not.

My neighbor has a patio fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the fall. The wood not suitable for my reuse has gone into a bin for that fire pit; and I have six 2x4s repurposed today.

I don't know how "pain in my ass" is abbreviated "HOA," but I put 2 1/2 hours into a repair on an "unsightly" window.

Now, after my second shower and in my sixth shirt of the day, I can list "not doing anything else today" as an accomplishment.

Yeah, the other five shirts are on hangers over the dryer. The pants and socks are in the dryer.

One of my projects for today was "meet man about listing." That went awesome. He looked at one listing; I gave him the "if you like this, you might like this also." He asked about more listings. I showed him two more. He bought three of the four, and seems genuinely interested in the fourth.

I'd pat myself on the back, but I'm too tired.

I used to be heavy into online browser games and had what is fair to say a breakdown because I was unable to pull myself away from them.

I asked my mental health support team for help and even though I can access the passwords (a member of my mental health support team had changed the password and for several weeks we locked them in a timed safe) I haven't felt the urge to play and while I still have problems I feel very accomplished and even happier to beat this addiction.

There are 44 Christmas gifts wrapped in the corner of the guest room.

I'll be sticking to my new diet until I lose some weight. It's sustainable which matters most.

Yesterday I walked 11.5 miles and while I was very sore I also felt very accomplished.
Today I took a much shorter walk about two miles though any kind of exercise is nothing to sneeze at.

I look around the room and think quietly, this place is an abject disaster. What the hell is she looking at?

Okay, so I've sold six listings lately, which means six new hidey holes have been cleared up for other stuff.

Had five appointments today to view listings and all of them rescheduled, totally bummed about that.

Half a day of laundry, trimming bushes off a walkway, and cutting the grass. Half a day of drinking and surfing our little perverted planet.

I took the dog and myself for a long walk.
It was good exercise and it was fun.
The ladies LOVE to pet my cute dog ! ...but not me!
Maybe I should grow my hair long and start looking like my scruffy dog.
