I was trying to search the Liv Revamped thread for all posts on a certain file host (ZS). When I enter the search criteria (zippyshare or zipp*) it returns no results. When I search page by page using CTRL+F and enter zipp- 3 results are present on page 5. Same search params= different results is indicative of a problem with search.

Can you provide the link of the thread ?

BTW, CTRL+F is the search of the browser while the "other" search is from the forum itself, no surprise there are some differences

I am aware of the distinction between search methods.

For example, Microsoft SharePoint uses a SQL backed and whether I query the RDBMS or search within a list or library- same search params return the same result. A minimal SharePoint Farm consists of a SQL server, SharePoint server running IIs, and usually 1 other server that hosts Search and Office Web Apps. It would be beneficial to understand the backed of PS. I've heard mention by Gwynd that that the 'server load' of searches swamps the Db. So are the Db and front end housed on 1 physical server, 2 separate servers, or hosted on 1 or 2 VMs?

Ok, I didn't know you are an SQL expert
Actually, the search engine of the forum is sometimes inaccurate or has some limitations (no search for strings of 3 characters or less), the solution seems to use Google search engine with site:Planetsuzy.org and the name of the thread in the search field + your string. I have tried with zippyshare and Liv revamped as criteria and I get a lof of pages from Google.
For the rest, I don't know how the DB is implemented on PS

I actually knew pretty much nothing about severs or SQL- but my SO is a sysadmin so he showed me how to do it
