FileJoker.net Issues

With all the complaining about the joker, how about we replace Depositfile as a required host in the patm section.

I have nothing against df and have used it alot in the past but since they ended they're affiliate program nobody seems to use it anymore and if we could replace df with another host maybe fboom and the joker could get some competition in the patm section.

You really must have spent a lot of time writing this. I agree, too bad the leaders here do not care at all. Before it seemed like 80% of the post were k2s/fboom links, 10% FJ and 10% others but now it seems like 60-70% FJ, and those are completely useless to me.

You can no more say the problem doesn't exist at all because you don't experience a problem (leaving aside that you're a subscriber who is making money posting links) anymore than someone who is experiencing problems can say that applies to everyone based on their own bad experience. The point is enough people have made it clear they are experiencing severely limited access or total exclusion from access for it to be undeniable there is a real problem that has naff all to do with users and it's not being dealt with in any way by the host or the forum.

I am not saying a host should be removed. I'm pointing out that one host has a near monopoly at the moment. Significant numbers of members have issues with that host. That host is in clear denial about issues. Posters who get kickbacks by posting to that host are defending their kickbacks and no there are not always or even nearly always alternatives available. Do a search for any given file and you will almost always find a tonne of dead posts and filejoker. Those are simple facts.

I also pointed out in my post at the file up/down request thread that I was once lectured by a moderator for not having a mirror in a post even though as I was fielding his barracking I was in the process of doing just that. Yet every single new post seems to be filejoker only. No mirrors. No alternatives.
You could argue that that thread exists so people can request mirrors, but the logical extension to that argument is why not have moderators add mirrors to every post automatically? they do check new posts. Right? That's not too practical though and it gives moderators who are too busy to shovel out all the dead posts no one wants to fix. So why not just have posters add mirror links at least once all over as standard? wouldn't that help with access and dead links anyway? And what's the only logical argument against that? That those posting only to filejoker will lose out on their kickbacks? Because there isn't another argument against that I can see.

My encounter only happened a few months ago and one reason I gave up on trying to post was because there's too much inconsistency and contradiction. I was trying to post something that had vanished but I was taking a written kicking while others were posting to one host only. Filejoker.

This is a state that has existed for some time and the problems that have surfaced in the last couple of weeks have not been recognised or dealt with. Not one moderator or administrator has commented on this. Nothing has been done by the forum or by filejoker.
We just get statements about nothing being wrong and nothing happening. And the only people waving those statements are subscribers making money posting only FJ links.
Yet clearly that nothing is wrong is not true. This has to put everything else in question if you have the ability to think in an unbiased way independently and logically even for a second.

So is this forum for all the members or just for those who use filejoker? If it's the latter then the questions have to be when did that happen and why? Fair questions which to this point haven't been answered.

This is my last post. I'm not conceding a point or saying all is fine and dandy. I'm just a bit fed up of arguing with some who have a clear agenda of maintining a status quo that works in their financial interest and everyone else can get stuffed. That has sod all to do with a fair forum that works for everyone and not just those posting for profit. Trying to get some people to be reasonable and sensible is like pissing in the wind.

Internet arguments always have been and always will be a waste of time. I made valid points and fair observations backed up by the points and observations of others. What is done now is down to whoever is in charge. I have no responsibility here whatsoever.

By clicking on a link you send the new site a referer from you the site you came.

If you click on a link here on psuzy leading to k2s, fb, tz or fj, you benefit from faster dl speeds (150-200kb/s at k2s, fb and tz & 120 kb/s at fj respectively) and reduced waiting times.
Look in the corresponding threads to find a way to make it work in JD, too.

And the mistake I made in the past was saving the links for later downloads instead of saving the post with the link in it; that way you get reasonable speeds.

There are other sites that have a referer in the link: "?site=(site name)". If PS links did this I think there would be less problems here.

Filejoker is slower than the other hosts by 30- 50% but that is the only problem I have.

OK, just checking. I'm sorry to hear you're getting such slow download speeds with FJ and can't offer any explanation as to why other than it may be something to do with your location. If that's the case then, unfortunately, there's no fix.

I really don't understand why anyone thinks that Filejoker has any kind of "monopoly" here. The busiest area of the site is the PATM section so let's see which filehosts the most recent posters are using.

Those using for-profit hosts to earn coin will always defend them not because they care about the forum but because they don't want to lose their coin. Go through the forum. Find the posts by the people defending the for-profit host and see if they use any other host at all or if their posts all have only one link.

They don't need to care about the forum, just stick to the rules, because all we want is for them to post their links. And they do - thousands of them.
I couldn't care less how much coin they make because they give me access to stuff for free. The days of sharing for sharing's sake are mostly gone now (myself being one exception) or hadn't you noticed?
