One in eight recovered COVID-19 patients reportedly die within 5 months.
Almost a third of recovered COVID-19 patients end up back in the hospital within five months — and up to one in eight die of complications from the illness, according to a report. Researchers at the UK’s Leicester University and the Office for National Statistics found that out of 47,780 people discharged from the hospital, 29.4 percent were readmitted within 140 days, the Telegraph reported. Of the total, 12.3 percent succumbed to the illness, it added. Many people who suffer long-lasting effects of the coronavirus develop heart problems, diabetes and chronic liver and kidney conditions, according to the report. “People seem to be going home, getting long-term effects, coming back in and dying. We see nearly 30 percent have been readmitted, and that’s a lot of people. The numbers are so large,” study author Kamlesh Khunti said. Scary |

Also feel that it is important to note that the New York Post is not exactly a pillar of excellence when it comes to reputable journalism. That being said, this is still rather terrifying.

I don't need any peer reviewing, when my sister in law, fits to the T. Exactly what Alex1 posted. 1st diagnosed beginning of June 2020. Ended up in the hospital for almost 3 weeks, severely ill. But thanks to otherwise being healthy as a horse. Survived. Took what another report wrote word for word, 2 weeks to a month to almost feel back to new again ( sitting at home, doing nothing of course ) Decided to go back to work, because by now? Arizona was being CRUSHED by Corona at the time. Goes back to being a full time nurse, which she always was at a hospital.
Within a month, everything that was wrong before, started coming back again. Took another leave of absence. Wasn't considered ill enough to be hospitalized. Sat at home another 2+ months. Decided to try going back to work again last week, this time only half her normal hours. We wait and see how this attempt goes. It's all a waiting game. New frontier to explore. This thing has always done things they never expected and is continuing to be a some what mystery at nearly a year, since first reported in America. We are probably only scratching the surface of what needs to be known. And now a new, more "catchy" variant is on the scene. Meanwhile, my brother, her husband. Who was diagnosed first with it? Had been perfectly fine ( or faking, not saying anything about feeling bad, the typical Turton male. ) Has only stopped working for the 14 day quarantine he was forced to take. Otherwise felt nothing worse then common cold/allergy symptoms the whole time. He is a manager at grocery store. 2 "essential" workers. 2 positive tests, 2 totally different situations. Quote:
