It's Dynashite, again?! The matches are too long. Seriously, why did Zack and Cody tag match go on for about 10 minutes? Cardona has the personality of a cardoor. The cardoor would get more over if Cody was tagging with it and whacking them.

JR is stuck in the 80s and it's pissing me off. Supposed to be a modern product. Somebody give him a Greg Valentine penis mold to sit on. I'm bored of listening to him not care and be old. Tony should be in his seat instead, he was a lot better, rather than this JR butt kisser, plug guy role they got him doing. I enjoy the promos, they tend to never disappoint. Hint, you do the long wrestling matches at PPVs. I've seen all your flippy moves, they aren't impressing me over and over. I want stories and a variety of intriguing characters on your show and I keep getting long matches. Being butthurt over a match loss doesn't count as a story. Justin Roberts is annoying. His squidward head bugs me. It feels like he's trying hard to be a pro instead of natural. The guy on Impact is so much better. Get that woman from Lucha Underground, she's miles better. If I'm not mistaken she's married to Cage so shouldn't be that difficult. Impact was a good show this week. It has a few cruddy moments but it's mostly solid. None of the matches feel long and they pace the show well. AEW are feeling more desperate with the hashtag nonsense every week and the deeper viewership data analysis with this female only heels thingamajig website, I don't want that shit. |

Wrestling is just not as interesting as it used to be. I grew up with WCW and WWF in the 90s. Every storyline has almost been done. Most of the people running the business are old and have old ideas. No new stars are being created. Jericho is still top dog after all this time, crazy. I have no idea how things can be improved. I used to follow TNA/Impact, but now I don't bother. I watch some highlights of AEW, mainly due to Jericho. Vince has no idea what he is doing. WWE is a joke these days. They have talented guys and gals, but they are used badly. |

It's all about the matches, hence why they are long, and your moves will get you noticed and make you a star apparently. It never worked that way so why do they think that works now. If you build up the feud right, you can have an average match and still have the fans invested. Most of Austin and Rocks matches were shit yet I don't feel bored watching them if I go back because the crowd are invested.
The old adage of facing off with the top star will help get you over is bollocks. They clearly have to get themselves over. Who has Cody got over on his run? Kingston got himself noticed with his promo and selling during the match. Who has Jericho got over? Does anyone care about his minion faction members? Cassidy was already over. Did he get Page over or did his character change do that? Who did HBK get over on the way out? No one. Undertaker on the way out? No one. Triple H? No. Did Kurt get over Baron? Did the Dudleyz get over Gallows and Anderson? It doesn't work. So having Jericho be the man to kick aside will do sod all for the next guy if fans aren't already invested in the guy to kick him aside. Give Impact a watch, it really is pretty solid considering no one cares about it, and they had a refresh about two or three weeks ago. More than three wrestlers have personalities on that show, it's an amazing concept. |

Code:
http://gamespot.com/articles/aews-ratings-war-with-wwe-makes-it-look-like-wcw-j/1100-6480709/ The big revelation for me is a rating is a sampling of 40,000 homes in the US. They then use an algorithm to determine its ratings numbers. An algorithm, that sounds accurate... So all this time the numbers are generated by an algorithm and the smarks argue and report about them like gospel. Am I the only one who thinks that's fucking sad? If it was a concrete number then fair enough but what's the point. It's basically the same every week anyway. If they think doing the same thing will get more viewers and they are just waiting for the ones who haven't found them yet then they are wrong. The debut show was the ceiling number willing to give it a shot. They would have to change the show up to get more viewers and they haven't. |

Why does AEW feel like I'm watching WWE as of late?
Last edited by Love Buzz; 14th August 2020 at 16:15.
Tag team appreciation night, the main event is a singles match. FTR don't even wrestle on tag team appreciation night. Another heel Tully making the most sense again. WTF was that with Archer? Comedy? It was pathetic. They've lost two more women, Gibbs and Priestly. At this point the R'n'R Express could pass as replacements the way they're looking. Roberta and Rickylina. JR will get off on that shit. The win/loss records feel worthless. I don't even notice them anymore. Having a small crowd there making a bit of noise makes it feel like a shitty Indy show. They bring new wrestlers in then next week it's as if they were never there because they got to get those long matches in instead of get more talent some TV time and potentially over. Since the main show is sucking of late, I ain't remotely intrigued by the fringe stuff on YT. |

Comedy game show stipulation? No Jericho, throwing someone into an orange pond isn't must see. Sounds like something Vince would enjoy. I couldn't believe how laughably bad it came across. It's quite weird how they also added you can win the usual way.

It's gotta be embarrassing when the majority of wrestling fans think the recent WWE PPV offerings were much better compared to that AEW stinker. Their B PPV with one week build beat the AEW A PPV with multiple months build. For me, AEW have been turning into a WWE clone lately, but now looks like WWE are branching ahead and I don't even watch it anymore. All based off of what I've read and heard. Seems like AEW cared more about all the side fluff, red carpets and all that crap. I'm surprised anyone even watches Dark anymore. I ditched that ages ago and they are gonna add a second show? I guess they were gonna start to flop at some point.

Personally, I think All Out was the best of the 3 from the last month. I felt Summerslam was rather meh, especially for a Big 4 and Payback wasn't a whole lot better even factoring for it only having a week of build.
All Out was probably the worst AEW PPV so far and I suspect it's getting a over-negative response because of what happened with Matt. Granted, they deserve to get torn up for it but I feel like it took over all the air from the event. Shida/Thunder Rosa was excellent, possibly the best women's match in AEW to date(I know, that's a low bar). Both of the standard tag matches were good if not great. The tag title match was probably a bit too long but whatever. They showed MJF is capable in the ring to go with his exceptional mic skills. And Jericho got dunked in an orange liquid again. |

Sure the Matt thing looked bad but the aftermath is worse because we haven't gotten a clear answer last I read. They had an easy out with a draw. Matt thinks he's 21 again and Sammy is a daredevil so it's a bad combination.
Matt Sydal = lame surprise. I would have laughed so much harder when he screwed up if I wasn't overcome with disappointment. I think of a lesser Dolph Ziggler when I see him. Pretty sure it's because they sound similar and the face sort of looks the same. The orange pond did nothing for me. You have something like that, you're basically just waiting for one of them to fall in and takes away from the match. That's why they tried to get out of it by adding pins and sub but it's obvious they're gonna use the pond. Tag title match was long, and while it wasn't totally boring, it didn't really peak. I can't remember if Shida/Rosa was any good. MJF has always been capable but should get new ring gear. Looks cheap. I actually didn't mind the dental office brawl. I'm not sure what classic fans were expecting from that one. Bucks v Express was easily best even though it just felt like an exhibition of moves. |
