It's kind of surprising to me to see a Joan Jett Calgary fan though . Yall are pretty good atm, Mark Giordano better get the Norris this year. Considering how it always seems to get given the year after a players best year, he may not get it until next year. My team (Rangers) suck atm, so does my 2nd fav (Detroit). My bruins are solid though. |

It was a lousy road trip but our placing is pretty much set and we will play a wildcard in the 1st round and if we make it to the 2nd round 2 good teams will already be gone ... I liked being in Phoenix much more than Vegas ... |

Mathew Tkachuk gets the hat trick for my Flames as they win 6-3 and shed that 4 game skid while breaking the Knights 6 game win streak, and retake 1st in the Pacific in an impressive win for my guys as David Ritich finished the night .893 saving 25 of 28. Backlund had two goals in a great effort as well.
It was the 1st game I wasn't at live this year I think and we needed a break from each other as I watched it on TV and tweeted my approval of the great effort getting the monkey off their backs.* The Capitals are red hot right now winning their 7th straight in a 3-1win over the Jets earlier and the Penguins beat the Bruins 4-2. The Bruins are currently 2nd in the league but are in the same division as the amazing 2019 Lightning that have the Presidents Trophy all but wrapped up A lot of 1st round matchups are starting to look clearer so we can take look at those in the next day or 2 ...* Laters gators Come on over CABJ hun, let's talk some Flames and Hawks hockey and show these people what a conversation looks like lol. |

Still some time left but here is what the playoffs currently look like as the Senators are the only team officially eliminated.
Current NHL Playoff Matchups Here are the first-round playoff matchups, based on today's standings. The top three teams in each division earn berths in the playoffs. The next two teams in terms of total points in the conference, regardless of division, earn the wild-card spots. This provides a total of eight teams from each conference.* The top seed in each division plays one of the wild-card teams in its conference. The division leader with the most points plays the wild-card team with the fewest points. The second and third seeds in each division face each other in the first round. Eastern Conference CURRENT MATCHUP Tampa Bay*(52-13-4, 108 points) Columbus*(38-27-3, 79 points) CURRENT MATCHUP Boston*(42-18-9, 93 points) Toronto*(42-21-5, 89 points) CURRENT MATCHUP Washington*(41-21-7, 89 points) Carolina*(37-24-7, 81 points) CURRENT MATCHUP NY Islanders*(39-22-7, 85 points) Pittsburgh*(37-23-9, 83 points) In The Hunt Montreal*(36-26-7, 79 points) Trailing Columbus by 0 points Games remaining: 13 (7 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 11, vs. East: 11 Philadelphia*(33-27-8, 74 points) Trailing Columbus by 5 points Games remaining: 14 (7 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 11, vs. East: 11 Florida*(30-27-12, 72 points) Trailing Columbus by 7 points Games remaining: 13 (5 home, 8 away) vs. quality teams: 9, vs. East: 8 Buffalo*(30-29-9, 69 points) Trailing Columbus by 10 points Games remaining: 14 (8 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 9, vs. East: 11 NY Rangers*(28-28-12, 68 points) Trailing Columbus by 11 points Games remaining: 14 (5 home, 9 away) vs. quality teams: 9, vs. East: 9 New Jersey*(25-35-9, 59 points) Trailing Columbus by 20 points Games remaining: 13 (6 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 9, vs. East: 7 Detroit*(24-35-10, 58 points) Trailing Columbus by 21 points Games remaining: 13 (6 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 11, vs. East: 10 EliminatedOttawa*(23-40-6, 52 points) Trailing Columbus by 27 points Games remaining: 13 (7 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 10, vs. East: 9 Western Conference CURRENT MATCHUP Calgary*(42-20-7, 91 points) Games remaining: 13 (8 home, 5 away) vs. quality teams: 4, vs. West: 9 Minnesota*(33-28-8, 74 points) Games remaining: 13 (8 home, 5 away) vs. quality teams: 12, vs. West: 8Regular season series (Flames lead 2-1-0)Dec 6, 2018Minnesota 0, Calgary 2Dec 15, 2018Calgary 2, Minnesota 1Mar 2, 2019Minnesota 4, Calgary 2 CURRENT MATCHUP San Jose*(41-19-8, 90 points) Games remaining: 14 (8 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 12 Vegas*(38-27-5, 81 points) Games remaining: 12 (6 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 11Regular season seriesNov 24, 2018San Jose 0, Vegas 6Jan 10, 2019San Jose 3, Vegas 2Mar 18, 2019Vegas at San JoseMar 30, 2019Vegas at San Jose CURRENT MATCHUP Winnipeg*(40-24-4, 84 points) Games remaining: 14 (7 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 11, vs. West: 11 Dallas*(35-28-5, 75 points) Games remaining: 14 (7 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 10, vs. West: 10Regular season series (Stars lead 2-1-0)Oct 6, 2018Winnipeg 1, Dallas 5Jan 6, 2019Dallas 1, Winnipeg 5Jan 19, 2019Winnipeg 2, Dallas 4Mar 25, 2019Dallas at Winnipeg CURRENT MATCHUP Nashville*(39-26-5, 83 points) Games remaining: 12 (5 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 7 St. Louis*(36-25-7, 79 points) Games remaining: 14 (8 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 7, vs. West: 6Regular season series (Blues lead 4-1-0)Nov 21, 2018St. Louis 1, Nashville 4Nov 23, 2018Nashville 2, St. Louis 6Feb 9, 2019Nashville 2, St. Louis 3Feb 10, 2019St. Louis 5, Nashville 4 (OT)Feb 26, 2019Nashville 0, St. Louis 2 In The Hunt Arizona*(34-29-5, 73 points) Trailing Minnesota by 1 point Games remaining: 14 (6 home, 8 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 10 Colorado*(30-27-12, 72 points) Trailing Minnesota by 2 points Games remaining: 13 (8 home, 5 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 11 Chicago*(29-30-9, 67 points) Trailing Minnesota by 7 points Games remaining: 14 (7 home, 7 away) vs. quality teams: 12, vs. West: 11 Edmonton*(30-31-7, 67 points) Trailing Minnesota by 7 points Games remaining: 14 (8 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 9, vs. West: 10 Vancouver*(28-32-9, 65 points) Trailing Minnesota by 9 points Games remaining: 13 (9 home, 4 away) vs. quality teams: 7, vs. West: 9 Anaheim*(27-34-9, 63 points) Trailing Minnesota by 11 points Games remaining: 12 (6 home, 6 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 11 Los Angeles*(25-36-8, 58 points) Trailing Minnesota by 16 points Games remaining: 13 (8 home, 5 away) vs. quality teams: 8, vs. West: 12 |

I feel sorry for anyone that has to try to win the east with the Bolts tearing it up right now but one good streak and one never knows.
The Lightning are busy spanking the Leafs 5-1after 2 periods. I will be curious to see if Tampa and Boston end up fighting it out in that conference or if the Caps will add their 2 cents being on a pretty good streak too right now. Interesting game in the west right now with the Sharks and Wild still scoreless after 1 period. The Devils are in town to play my Flames tomorrow |

You're a true fan milady and your team is very strong this year. I'm always happy when the Canadian clubs are great. Hopefully the teams from the North will be successful in the playoffs. My Blackhawks are very inconsistent this season. We can beat the best teams and next game we can lose against the lame Kings... (Sorry LA fans)
Yesterday's results were excellent for us. We beat the Coyotes, who are ahead of us, plus Minnesota and Colorado both lost their games. Currently we're five points behind the Wild, who holds the second wild card. It won't be easy, but hopefully we can make it. And as we all know, anything can happen in the playoffs. Everybody starts from zero again, what happened in the regular season doesn't matter anymore.

Yes Kaner is definitely in the middle of his best season, I'm sure he'll be a nominate to the Hart Trophy. I don't think he'll beat Nikita Kucherov for the award, but who knows. Unfortunately Crawford's concussions are pretty frequent and serious too. He's still a young goalie, but I'm afraid he's on a slope.
Hopefully we can indeed reach the playoffs and can cause headache to the elite teams. It's amazing how tight the race is in the West. There will be huge battles between the teams in the final month.

Too bad this thread didn't last long. I've been away for a few months and have not been able to contribute...
Dang, the Lightnings got swept by Columbus. Did not see that one coming. And Flames, well they have a young team, but seriously, Avs has only one line that produce. Still I'm happy since Elias Pettersson will join our Swedish national team for the WC in May. I would sure like us to take a third consecutive win. Go Sweden. |
