Using PlanetSuzy to make collectors sell or buy material can probably cause problems in the end with copyright complaints.
As host for this activity PlanetSuzy could be held responsible for this trade, or by making these trades posible.
What kind of material is allowed to be sold/bought? Only material without copyright? There is no such thing. Everything is copyrighted. Believe me.

You never know when someone suddenly feels his rights have been violated. Or when someone sees the oportunity to earn more money on his rightful owned material.

As long as no money is involved and the members share on a free basis without involving the aspect of money it seldom draws any larger attention.
Lately VEF had a complaint from Color Climax. Even though no money were involved a great deal of the material was asked to be removed.
They removed it wisely.

I know some will find PlanetSuzy (or other related vintage forums) the ideal place to reach their eventual buyers. But it is a minefield to walk in to for the particular site who hosts it.

PlanetSuzy has adds (sponsors) who are a part of the financial basis to keep up the site. This option is free to be used for eveyone who wishes to advertise and leaves PlanetSuzy better protected.
It is easy to remove adds if they are containing copyright violated material. But PlanetSuzy will not be held responsible.

This kind of forum should stay entirely out of the commercial aspects and stick to ordinary good old fashioned sharing.

As for my personal opinion:

I don't like a 'free' forum contains commercial aspects. We have gathered here to share the knowledge and material we have without any strings attached or any money inbetween us.

Yes, I did, alexora.

I am very well aware of the general rules of second hand material:

I have recently sold my shop I had for about 15 years.
I was dealing in used and rare books. I also dealt in porn. Videos and magazines included. I both sold, rented and exchanged.

What I'm getting at is that it most likely would get out of hand if this new section is not moderated by someone who is more or less and expert on this field. Every post has to be monitored for any eventual violating material.
If you get sloppy and let gaps be open you put a site on the risk you have so much benefit from. PlanetSuzy should stay.
In my eyes it is not worth the risk in any way.
Besides, as mentioned by other, there are places like eBay for these matters.

The main point in my making this suggestion is to help members of this site who have adult collectables up for auction/sale on Ebay or other auctions sites promote and feature their auctions for the benefit of fellow fans/collectors of adult collectables. The proposed Adult Collectables section would simply serve as a place to say to other members of this forum who enter the section, for example:

"Hey, I'm currently auctioning on eBay a rare issue of Mayfair magazine from the early 1980s that features Anna Ventura, along with an interesting interview with Hugh Hefner and an article about science and sex."

In such a posting I would include a set of scans of the cover, contents page, some or perhaps all of the Anna pictorial, and sample scans from the other pictorials in the magazine, along with scans of some (or perhaps all) of the interview and article. Such image scans would be hosted on a free image hosting site like imagebam and I would conclude the posting with a link to the auction listing page on ebay. The posting would also mention when the auction ended.

Also, a posting in the Anna Ventura threat could also be done that features the Anna pictorial scans along with a link back to the main Adult Collectables section posting with the link to the auction listing.

This obviously is helpful to the owner/seller of the specific collectable magazine and also to Anna fans here who may be interested in adding to their magazine collection, while everyone would be welcome to download the page scans of her pictorial for free, along with any of the other page scans, just like in any other posting made in this forum.

Its a simple concept that seems to benefit many without harming anyone.

I can see what you mean, searcher2cr, and somehow it doesn't seem so bad when you first look at it.

The only thing is it might disappoint a lot of members who suddenly can't understand why they can't freely get what they see posted (in full or partial).

You can compare it with showing a kid the candy store and let her smell the goodies coming out of the door, but she will not get any because you can't afford to buy her anything and grab her hand and drags her home again.
How does that make you feel? Not so good, right?

People are used to, and expecting, that everything on a free forum is shared with no costs at all.

Those who do share freely will now feel they are working their ass off while someone else is running of with the prize. And that could very much be the end of lots of postings.

"Why should I post all this for free when others earn money on the same things?"

It is not an easy thing to handle your proposal, searcher2cr.

I'm a bit surprised at both the the apparent over-analysis of my suggestion, and also by this apparent expectation of satisfying all of one's porn needs for free.

Again, this suggestion only involves setting up one specific section for promoting/featuring physical second-hand adult collectables auction/sales that would only take place outside of this forum. There are a large number of other sections and threads on this forum and I hardly think that setting up this one designated section would have any effect on the posting frequency on the rest of this forum.

I would love to see a section where members could offer their collections for sale, I was a member of the now defunct Magazine Models forum and sold a few items thru that site.


but I also appreciate the hesitation of setting such a space here. Maybe the answer is for someone to set up a completely seperate forum for selling items, if people offered an item for sale they could always refer to their identity here so people can recognise one another and give that bit of extra trust in the transaction.

Thanks for your comment. I used to own an Adult Collectables Yahoo Group that worked fairly well, but it only had a few hundred members.

They key point about having a distinct section here is for it to provide a place to promote/feature adult collectable auctions/sales that are hosted on other sites, taking advantage of the large membership of this forum made up of fellow fans/collectors of adult erotica.
