I'm sure most people have a few body parts that they are insecure about - and I fully agree that surgery shouldn't be the answer. One should learn to accept ones body, which is of course becoming increasingly hard in our modern age of social media and whatnot. Same for me - I'm not against plastic surgery, but it seems that many people too easily opt for it. And drastic measures such as labiaplasty should definitely have a higher age limit.

If you are judging a girl by the shape of her labia you are an immature prick that doesn't deserve the girl or her pussy. Grow the fuck up. At least these girls are going willingly. If they are under 18, then I think they are making a hasty decision that may haunt them for a long time. I've always been of the opinion "keep what ya got!" I think we're getting a bit off topic. The subject here is not men's reactions to vaginas, but women's perceptions of their own bodies. I doubt that these teen girls are asking about cosmetic surgery because of the negative comments they've been getting from their boyfriends. They have absorbed the idea that a tiny pink clamshell is the ideal, and they want the ideal. Where did they get this notion? Is this something that teen girls were concerned about in the sixties? Or is this entirely a result of Penthouse and the introduction of split beaver to the American psyche?

There are ideals of beauty for every body part. Legs, breasts, etc., have been celebrated for millennia. Pussy aesthetics are relatively new. One interesting difference is that the notion that "I want a girl just like the girl who married dear old dad" doesn't apply to pussies. Girls with thick legs may not be ideal beauties, but there's always people who will find those characteristics attractive, because they've known real people with those traits. Vaginal lips? Who knows what hides between a woman's legs? Perhaps if we were exposed to these variations as we were growing up, we would have a greater appreciation for the variety that's out there.

Very true about it being a hasty decision. As I said, when I was a teen I was self conscious of my body (including my labia) as all teen girls are. Now In my 20's I feel ridiculous for ever being ashamed of having large labia. That's why I dont support labiaplasty for teens unless a true medical condition warrants it. I think the vast majority will quickly grow and accept how their lady bits look.

This thread has generated some interesting views on the subject at hand and I think all of us hearing each others opinions on a subject that ,quite frankly never gets discussed, is a good thing. The question of whether girls in the sixties had the same concerns about their bodies is interesting. I wonder if they did? Why dont we all go ask our moms and grandmothers!!! lol

We started off discussing why women, specifically young teens, would be asking for cosmetic surgery on their labia. We quickly morphed into what men think about women's labia. I find it hard to believe that men's opinions factor into this decision, any more than men factor into a woman's decision to get a tattoo or a piercing.
