This is a great idea, but as both my younger brother and I are pretty private people it was never going to work. (I know that he stumbled upon my stash of Playboy Books of Lingerie when we were younger and I discovered a few of dodgy VHS tapes, but neither of us ever shared our discoveries).

My digital collection is on four external HDs of different sizes (1 x 500GB, 1 x 1.5TB and 2 x 1TB for backups) and I am sure Mrs Red, if she is still around after my passing, will plug them in discover millions of images of hundreds of videos. She knows that I watch porn and keep "some" of it for self-pleasure purposes, but I could imagine her being a little taken aback by the size of the collection.

More difficult to explain away would be my magazine collection. She knows I have some magazines in that she has occasionally found a conveniently located porno in my bedside drawer, but to discover over six hundred picks from just over twenty-five years may be a bit of an eye-opener.

I will probably leave a note about their value as collectibles, and as a collector herself she will probably understand this. I will also leave details of various sales portals so she can make some money in getting rid of them rather than making some massive porn bonfire. Come to think of it, I may just bite the bullet and tell her.

Mine is easy to find on the computer, external drives, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and boxes of mags. The "hard" media I intend to destroy/recycle, but the electrons are there for the taking.

I'm hoping to live long enough that my son will be savvy to find and take it, but he'll probably be working on his own by then.

And since collecting it is most of the fun anyway, he probably won't want it.

The snapshots of my 1st gf I cannot bear to destroy, so somebody's gonna find those after I'm gone. Just hope they don't think worse of me for keeping them.

I guess I'm lucky. Being the only boys in the family, my brother and I are very close (as we are with our three sisters as well), so we've always been open about our porn stashes with each other and have shared quite a bit.

There was a great British comedy about ten years ago called Coupling and they touched on the subject. A couple of the main characters who were lifelong friends had come up with the perfect solution.

Of course, none of us know when we're gonna die, but if I ever decide to stop watching porn or I'm no longer able to for whatever reason (doubt either will happen ), I already decided I would upload most of my best HD stuff & rare stuff to several sites like this & tube sites, if said sites are still relevant. Then I'd ultimately delete it all. Let's just say there are things in my collection that cannot be unseen, especially if someone who doesn't watch porn regularly finds it.
