open VLC click view then advanced controls

open video you want to take screen of then hit the icon that looks like a camera
the pic will be in your pictures folder

never tried a collage. I do get screen caps fast on Pot Player Control E quite a few times has gotten me so hooked about it I keep forgetting Power DVD 19 don't work with that code that's Eject lol ouch. print screen might with dropbox installed but not control e when playing a blu ray. I'm unsure if Pot Player (Gom Player is way too much in ads...) does collages..

You can use media player classic

Open video with mpc, click on file then select "save thumbnails". You can adjust rows and columns there and click save. Thats it

and you can configure to change the number of captures, rows, columns,color frame etc.
