Which version did you buy?

RP isn't a video player any longer, at least not based on the list of what it can do. And based on the options, "private video" playback is not supported in the free version. At least that's my take on the "feature" list.

I use MPC-HT (Media Player Classis Home Theatre). There is also just MPC and MPC Mega. All are based on the same player, but updated by different groups.

I dont use VLC, but I keep it installed to test problem files. It does play anything. If it doesn't, the file is typically toast.
