Not a password problem but I thought this is the best thread to ask in.

Ive downloaded a zip file title 30mar.zip When I try to open it I get an error message " Jzip does not support the compression method used by the archieve file.." It is showing as 583.676kb in my DL folder and when I try to open it, it shows 65 files(Pics) and 570mb. Ive gone through all the posts Ive thanked and I cant find it. I religiously thank posts and often find the next day that the system does not show the previous nights thanked posts?
Any Idea how I can find this file to try it again? Thank you.

Is the file size 583 thousand kb or just 583 kb? If the download looks like all of the data is there, could you try using a different program to unzip it, like 7zip or good old winrar to check it's not a software compatibility thing?

Im not very good with computer jargon or the tech stuff. As for file sizes, what I have written is what it says on the screen. 7zip and winrar? Are they other programs that I will need to install to try on the file? I cant see them when I use the "Open with" option. I appreciate the assistance

7zip is an alternative archive program that jzip is based on. I'll pm you a link to a portable version so you don't need to install it. I would suggest trying to unzip your file with 7zip, and if you get a similar error, it is likely that the download is corrupt.

You mentioned your previous day's thanks sometimes don't show up. With time having passed, might they now be registered and you can look back to the day you downloaded the archive? Other than checking the posts you thanked, the filename isn't that long to give us an idea of which set it is.

You've run it through RAR Password Cracker and no luck? Is it likely you thanked the post when you downloaded? It is possible to go back through posts you thanked to see if it is there. User CP > Your Profile > Find all posts thanked by [username].

Failing that, is there anything you can decipher from the file name? It looks there's a 'scene 5' in there. Maybe the model's name or the release title comes at the beginning.

Based on the dummy file, there might be a particular poster who uses that .rtf, but unless it's unique and someone recognises which poster's files it belongs to, it may not help.
