I have been loathe to take the time to put anything of substance up on Planetsuzy lately because I am kind of tired of small minded people removing my comments when they are not inline with their bullshit views. (I hate wasting my time) Its amazing how even the most rational reasonable statements can be labeled as a political view when you want to remove it.

But this I have to take the time with here's the truth of course men in power have sexually harassed women (and I hate to tell you some women have done it too.) The psychology of someone who sexually harasses or demeans someone at the work place when they are in a position of power over them is not about sex, it's about having power over someone and using it to demean them and seeing what they can get away with).

No one should be sexually harassed in order to have or keep a job. Matt Lauer should have been fired. No one should have to put up with sexual harassment or demands in order to keep a job. We all have mothers and grandmothers and women in our lives that we love and respect. So no they shouldn't have to put up with that shit. Period.

The former US morning show anchor Matt Lauer said reports of his sexual misconduct had “enough truth” in them for him to feel “ashamed and embarrassed” in his first public statement since NBC fired the star host for inappropriate sexual behavior.

This should be taken on board by all those who have posted in this thread expressing their skepticism at the testimonials women made against him (many of these members took the same stance in other PS threads about male celebrities accused of sexual harassment and assault).

Matt Lauer apologized? Ah the celebrity very vague apology which is often used to try to repair their careers. It's where they say i'm not really sorry for what I did, I won't really specify what I did. But I know I behaved wrongly and I am sorry if I hurt anyone. (Not I am sorry for doing this.)

Celebrities and politicians do it all the time and only after they get caught. Just recently Russell Simmons did it after a woman accused him of sexual assault (he's leaving his own company due to this incident) Arnold Schwarzenegger did it too when he was accused of groping women. Matt like the rest is not sorry for what he did, just sorry he got caught.

Be careful: Arnold Schwarzenegger is the former Governor of California, so this could be used as an excuse by an overzealous Mod to slap you with an infraction for making a "political" post.

I have seen many of my posts deleted when quoting a person before they even attained an elected office, so it would only follow that the same criteria be applied to posts about people after their term.

However, maybe you can draw some solace in knowing that the no politics rule enforcement here on The Planet tends to be applied only when a single particular politician is mentioned...

I waited a bit before making a comment. It is always a good idea to let things play out a little before you make up your mind about a scandal. Take the case of the Duke Lacrosse Team who were accused of rape. It eventually came out that it was a false accusation.

In the case of Lauer there are 8 accusers at this point and there is some circumstantial evidence to prove these claims. I wouldn't be too surprised, even though NBC denies it, that many of these incidents were reported to supervisors.

As far as Lauer being fired, it is quite different from you or me if we were fired. You'd probably have difficulty finding another job and you most likely would suffer severe financial difficulty. Lauer has a net worth of $80 million dollars. He doesn't need to worry about making house payments and putting food on the table for sending his kids to an expensive college. His only hardship is that everyone now knows he's a scumbag.
