I recently finished a 12 week course of treatment that consisted of taking one pill every day.

It was successful and I was fully cured of my ailment, but each pill cost in the region of £500 ($669) making the treatment bill (just for the meds, and not for all the other medical costs such as doctors, nurses, blood tests etc) £42,000.

Fortunately for me, I live in the UK, and all costs (medications, treatment, medical and nursing care, tests, etc) were covered by the National Health Service: in the USA I would have been left to die with my pre-existing condition...

No: my post was about the extortionate price some pharmaceutical companies charge for some of their meds.

I had to take those pills to cure a pre-exisiting, and potentially fatal, medical condition.

My point was that my life was saved by the UK's National Health Service: I didn't have to spend a penny in order to be cured.

As for Viagra, I don't need it, but if I did, the state of my heart (another pre-existing condition) means that I could die if I took it even just once...
