Thanks for the advice the the winrar site.
I was put off by the 40 day trial sign! I have often sent a small paypal donation to freeware sites. I wonder if he would make more money by asking for donations. I mean many of us use winrar a lot

You can still use an expired version of WinRar by right clicking in a zip file and extract it that way. I have been doing it for years! I'm currently using version 3.80

Oddly enough, I ran into a rar file that would not unzip. I tried Winrar and received an error message saying it was an invalid zip file. I was about to delete it, but I looked at the file size and it seemed like the file downloaded. So, I used 7zip and the archive extracted.
