Couldn't agree more. The procedural aspect is forgetable but Tom Ellis's performance is great. I really like his scenes with his shrink too.

I like the premise of Lucifer donning human form and living among us. I like the fact he's intrigued with someone he can't manipulate. I never knew it was taken from a comic until a read a thread about it. But it reminds me of a series of novels called the Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony.

The trouble with this show is it doesn't take itself seriously enough for the ideas to mean anything to anyone.
I'm hoping the producers realise it "all play and no work made Jack a poor boy".

Yes, I'm looking for a much more serious show about the Lord of the Underworld coming to Los Angeles to help a hot detective (who showed her boobs in a movie) solve crimes.

My brother watches Lucifer and enjoys it, but I haven't given it a chance yet. Maybe I'll check it out when I have some downtime to enjoy it. I've only been keeping up with The Flash and a few FOX comedies and some anime.

I suprised and happy to see that they have renewed the show for a second season. Apparently it has been doing quite well. From IGN:
