As far as what version of Windows you have, what "sub-version" do you have? Not necessarily Xp/Vista/7 but Home, Professional, etc. I ask because at an old job I worked at everyone's PC was like that if you left it idle (even if online) for about 10-15 minutes, then it made you re-login to unlock it.
If you're using XP (the OS I use, my PC is "old") then if you can get into Control Panel > User Accounts you hopefully will find the options you're looking for there. My PC is set to always leave me logged on since I am the only person who uses it so I never have to login to my PC. Hope that helps at least a little bit. |

Its the same area as before mate. Go to:
Control Panel -> Power Options. On the left hand panel there is an option for "require a password on wakeup". Click this At the bottom hit the blue text reading "change settings that are currently unavailable" Check the bottom radio button for "Don't require a password". Now, when you computer sleeps and you move the mouse to restart you wont need a password. Cheers |

Not sure if this is possible but ya never know. Could you try to screenshot exactly what you see when the problem occurs.
We have tried cancelling screensaver and that fails. We have tried cancelling computer sleeping and that fails We have tried cancelling password on computer sleep and that also failed. For what your describing I cannot think of anything else. Maybe if I could see what it was then I would have an idea. Its probably something simple but without being able to truely see the problem its hard to think of anything else. Cheers |

I guess I didn't mention it before, but also double-check to make sure you're an administrator on your PC. If you're the only person using it you almost certainly are, but you never know...

Try change how long it is before the screen saver kicks in. I have mine set at 20 minutes. I'm not usually away from the computer any longer than that. As mention before make sure on resume display logon screen is not check.

I just wanted to take the time. To thank the person who suggested. The time on the screensaver. I set it at 4000 minutes plus and have had no problems. With the password coming up when I leave my pc idle. Thanks again for all the help from you and everybody.
