I think one of the reasons her comeback didn't work was because she was known for doing anal, and she didn't do it in her comeback scenes. She was even rude to people who simply asked if she'd be doing anal. One of those conversations was something like:

Guy: You ever gonna do an anal scene now that you're back?
Gauge: If you like anal so much, bend your dick backwards and fuck yourself in the ass!

Yeah, that kinda retort isn't gonna keep her old fans or gain new ones. These girls have to understand that they're career relies on their fans. During her 'comeback' phase, Gauge announced that she had shot a scene for Jules Jordan.

This scene never saw the light of day, so either she lied, or it was so bad that Jules decided to sit on it.
