And I would love to see where you acquired your statistics for QB rating when under pressure, most drops of possible INT by defenses, and the context of which he reads his receivers on any given play.

They run it more, yes. But they also ran PA a lot. And Kaep thrives in PA. So that they run it more is even a help for him.

No, it was when he was playing like he always has. The personel was different. We had Randy Moss, Ted Ginn, and Delaine Walker on the roster. Those three stretched the field and took some heat off the top. We had no one other than Vernon Davis that did that last season. And how is 10 games a small sample size?

Okay. What about? Pro Football Focus has their own personal metrics and grades. That means nothing as it is still personal opinion, not gospel. That, and even they don't have complete insight on context within playcalls. They can't tell you if someone is supposed to be getting the ball, or how a coverage is supposed to be designed from the jump, or the communication that is supposed to be going on between player A and player B. And what does NFL Gamepass do for you? Allow to re-watch games? All-22? So basically you're watching the game again. Fantastic. That proves nothing.

What the F are you talking about? I don't care about how much support someone does or does not have by the masses. That doesn't make the ball come out of a player's hand any differently. That doesn't change the way their feet operate on a three or five step dropback. All of your gossip logic you're trying to make relevant is actually irrelevant.

Sure Alex Smith played well in Jim Harbaugh's system. What is your point? That doesn't make him a better player. Jeff Kemp, Steve Bono, and Matt Cavanaugh played well in Bill Walsh's system. Doesn't mean they were on the same level as Steve Young or Joe Montana. Kaepernick runs laps around Alex Smith with his ability to pass the football. It's note even close really. There is a reason why we got to the Super Bowl, with a slightly worse defense, on the road compared to not getting to the Super Bowl with one of the best defense in the last ten years and playing at home in the NFC Championship game. There is actually a reason why our receivers are now going over 1000 yards even when we rank 32nd in pass attempts. Colin is the main reason. And who cares if Colin has a great defense. Is he supposed to turn water into wine with a bunch of scrubs? What if Steve Young continue to play in Tampa in the late 80's? What if Joe Montana was drafted by the Phoenix Cardinals? Believe it or not football is a team-oriented sport. And I'm sorry what is your evidence for this "playing it safe" rhetoric? Who told you that? Someone else from NFL.com or ESPN?

Ummm, who the hell cares about play action and the amount of times it's used or isn't used? Colin K ranked nearly at the same spot in terms of play action percentage as Peyton Manning last year. Pretty good company.

But...but...real passers don't use play action!!!! NUUUURRRR HURRRR.

That's like complaining about a quarterback that is in the shotgun a good amount of the time, as if it's cheating.

And okay, you took another random statistic out of context. Great here is one: Colin K ranked 7th in total QBR.

If you want to go PFF, Colin has ranked near the top in completions over 20 yards, only behind Russell Wilson. So by that out of context logic, Colin K is one of the best passers, especially deep, in the NFL.

Strange that we traded for both Martin and Gabbert. I guess Harbaugh thinks he can work his magic on these young players that looked like a lost cause.

It's unfortunate we couldn't keep Whitner, but replacing him with Bethea wasn't bad. Kind of a lateral move. No one has signed Tarrell Brown or even shown interest from what I've heard, so maybe he'll stick around. Getting Phil Dawson back was nice.

Bethea's a good enough safety...it would have been nice to keep Donte around
but these things happen all the time and we have to get used to it.
Whitner's a great player, a good guy & I wish him the best of luck...

...except when he's playing us.

I wasn't crazy about the fact that the Jags signed Gabbert to a 2 year 8 million dollar deal
before trading him because 4 million for a back-up QB is way too much.

As for Martin...I figure since the center market is poor this year,
we'll try to reshuffle the O-line a bit and see who can play center.
Could end up with Boone at center and kick Martin inside and see if he can play RG,
or vice versa considering at 6"5" and 312 Martin would be a better center fit,
than Boone at 6'8" and 300.

It also appears that Eric Wright will still be a Niner on a one year deal.
No official word but Eric posted a copy of his contract on his Instagram account.



Carlos Rogers was cut with a post-June 1 designation that will save 6 million in salary cap space.
Now we can get someone with some younger legs.

Considering these moves so far (and maybe getting Brown back),
the draft would be best served with a decent CB, DE, WR.
& I'm hoping Lattimore is everything at RB that I heard he was so he can give Frank a breather.

Baring a disastrous draft, I'm pleasantly delighted how we are re-stocking the team so far.
