The whole Triple H surgery thing passed me by at the time. It was supposed to be end of an era in that Mania cell match they had. Now it really is over, unless, Austin makes a part time comeback. Maybe that's why they wanted him to keep this last vestige of that coveted era going as long as possible knowing Taker and HHH are done.

Well WWE wanted to sell us Randy Orton and Edge as the greatest Wrestling Match ever in the last WM and Rock vs. Cena as once in a lifetime before it was twice in a lifetime.I think its sad that Triple H is forced to retire but at least he is still alive because that shit was serious. Jeff Hardy came back at Mania, what did he really accomplish after that? It'll be the same and arguably Jeff is a bigger star. Cody must be having a serious lapse of judgement or a break down if he thinks going back to WWE is somehow beneficial knowing how their system operates and being against that but now not? It doesn't add up. He must be getting serious cash, Edge level, for relaxed schedule or a promise of some other role perhaps.

Worst thing can do is be excited for Mania. It'll probably be mostly shite. Austin will be a bunch of annoying what's, probably a fat joke, bring out the classic moves, but no match. A fuck load of money for that. Gross as fuck if you ask me. If there's no match he should be booed back to his ranch. He's pulling Hogan level politics except he's still so beloved no cunt care point it out.

Hadn't even realized that Cody left AEW, guess they wanted to continue to bloat their roster and didn't feel like paying him and his wife what they were asking for. I wonder how long it'll be before we see Dustin back in WWE and they force him back into the Goldust gimmick

Regarding Cody, from what I've seen the idea is that keeping it as a reveal for Mania night is trying to repeat what they did a few years back with the Hardys. Big surprise out of nowhere, huge pop and all that.

The problem is that Cody isn't on that level, nowhere near it. I remember 'Smoke and Mirrors', but the first beats of that ain't getting anywhere near what the start of a Hardys theme gets. I should brush up on the Stardust themes just in case they go with that music, but same thing.

I acknowledge that there's a symbolism to Cody coming back, but he's not a guy that's going to draw back in those who are in an 'AEW only' mode and I don't think much of the 'WWE only' people cared that he left in the first place.

Bottom line for me is this: If he returns Saturday and doesn't beat Seth, it's over before it started. They have to push Cody hard to start otherwise they'll have to massively overpay to bring in the next guy since there's going to be a level of suspicion that they too are being used as just a pawn by Vince and co.

What are they gonna do to spruce it up? Mention AEW? Sure. I hope the entire thing is a swerve and it really is somebody unknown but info like this is hardly ever incorrect these days. I was thinking Wyatt as a slight possibility. They could use him back and it'd get a proper huge reaction just because that entrance. Or one last Goldberg payday? Please no. Undertaker one last time since his last match was in front of nobody and that's a bit shit to go out on. I'd take that.
