Nia's finally gone. Good riddance.
Sucks they botched Keith Lee and Karrion Kross, and that both of them and Scarlett are gone, though.

Some thoughts...
Nia - At least the WWE will be a safer place to work. She should've been sent back to the development center for a couple months. Hey, if Doudrop can get through a match without killing someone, it can be done! Surprised she actually got cut, seeing as how she's The Rock's cousin. Karrion - Not like he was introduced to the WWE properly, jobbing to a mid-carder in under two minutes in his debut. Even though he's a Vince-type wrestler (big, strong, and can't work), surprising to see them throw in the towel so soon, especially with Scarlett on the cusp of debuting. Keith/Mia - Figures they couldn't get Keith over... he has a brain! Seriously though, his promos were way too intelligently delivered; basically, he needed to dumb down to get over, and he just couldn't do that. His fiancee, Mia, is a good a female wrestler as there is out there... definitely coach material. I sense she'll return at some point. Eva Marie - Here we go again... never got a chance the second time around... nor the first time, really... Ember Moon - After she jobbed the NXT title, she just kinda disappeared, so no real surprise there. |

Now, word is breaking this morning that some of the talent released yesterday may have been released due to their COVID status, mainly not being vaccinated.
Here is the story which is fueling the speculation: Code:

Nia has responded to that claiming she has been on a mental health break, asked for more time when they had her scheduled back in a couple weeks and next she heard was the release. She says vaccination status wasn't a part of it, but since she didn't say she is vaccinated, the safe guess is she isn't.
In any case, there's no good time to release a bunch of people. But doing it mere hours after a quarterly earnings call where you increase expectations for the full year/next quarter is not a great look. And it sucks that it's like a week after the ROH news so there's a bit less of a landing place for people. |

Another possible explanation for the releases, published by wrestlingrumors.net this morning:

Stories have come out about Keith Lee being "difficult to work with" just like stories about Bray having "attitude problems" came out in the last few days.
Interesting that so many WWE Superstars have "attitude problems" or "are difficult to work with" once they get released. Imagine working for a promotion where everything from the attire you wear to the words you speak to the matches you wrestle are micromanaged down to the smallest detail, where your entire career trajectory is at the mercy of an insane septuagenarian lunatic and his long-time asskissing cronies, and where you can be fired at any time for any reason up to and including "budget cuts" while said promotion makes record profits. Could such a working environment perhaps be a bit toxic? Nah. Couldn't be.

I was thinking yesterday about how Survivor Series is in like 3 weeks(actually 2) and there's literally ZERO mention of it on TV.
In related news, they announced the full teams of the Survivor Series matches on twitter today. Both teams for both the men's and women's matches, all 20 people. Just announced in one long twitter thread. No good old qualifying matches, no force some random women to qualify while the rest of her team is just appointed because they only have like 7 women on that show, no new matches to break things up, none of it. They couldn't even be arsed to give us the same stupid matches again under the guise of a qualifying match! |

Investors whine, Vince tells Khan the conditions, Khan makes a list, Vince picks, Laryngitis tells them. I believe it's as simple as that.
