Excited to see Sasha Banks back and as a Heel. That’s the kind of opponent that Becky Lynch needed.

I meant to just show up as a face like the rest of the geezers. He won't wrestle ever again but can't imagine it's that hard to presumably take a private jet to an arena for two hours and then bugger off back to wherever. The show is named after one of his phrases after all. I guess Twatter is now considered good enough as being there for him. He can't get up on those ropes, he might slip and sprain an ankle or something then we have to wait even longer for those movies I don't watch.

I call them 'Stupid Rock Movies' myself. Austin was literally Skype'd in on Monday, so the lengths WWE will go to get that 30 seconds of nostalgia pop is pretty damn far. Anniversary show is in LA, gotta figure Fox wants Rocky, we shall see.

They'll probably have Ziggler taunt Rock for a few weeks leading up to it. He'll come out to Rock's music and we'll somehow get a Boogeyman match instead lol. At this point who gives a flying rat fuck anyway, we all know what Dwayne is gonna do, his catchphrases and make fun of someone. Better off not being there. He can endorse Seth via Twatter and we can all roll our eyes and move on.

At some point this week, I got this idea that the big reunion show is WWE trying to copy what they did in response to the time Impact moved to a live show on Mondays and went head-to-head with Raw. TNA makes a big deal of this whole thing and then the first night is Bret Heart's big return with a forgiving of Shawn(maybe, I forget if that was the first show) and the competition is more dead after one night.
This time there's some complications, like the fact that it's not a head-to-head and honestly if they don't get Rock none of those names are going to cause the kind of titanic noise that Bret returning did. And a Rock return almost certainly doesn't either but he's at least someone who hasn't been seen for a couple years. Most of the other names are around all the time and/or have had a match in the last year. A bigger concern is that there seems to be a lot of noise about using NXT as the direct counter-program. Specifically with a live(or partly live), 2 hour show with both USA and FS1 being mentioned as the channel. Now NXT to FS1 has been lurking in the weeds since the FOX deal got signed, but this would be a major change and probably not for the better. Prefacing with that I still don't watch NXT, but it seems to me like making it 2 hours and probably in more direct eyesight of Vince is an absolutely horrible idea. As I feel like the lack of Vince is the most frequently mentioned best feature of the show. |

Isn't NXT essentially like Impact when they stayed in Universal, same crowd and all that. It'll look low rate compared to a touring AEW. If it goes two hours and is likely better booked, it might show up the main roster shows as inadequate crap which won't be ideal for them. Also it could turn to crap itself and apparently lately it hasn't been that great at just one hour. Really they shouldn't even bother, do they actually give a fuck that you watch a taped NXT when it first airs. I highly doubt it. AEW have stated they aren't looking to compete so this all on the empire getting the heebie jeebies because they know they have been complacent, uncool and get a lot of mostly deserved criticism every week.

Yeah, I believe it's almost always from Full Sail and even with the smaller venues AEW is doing past the opener it will definitely look tiny by comparison.

Triple H's definition of pissant = We're fucked, counter as quick as possible.
NXT = Now Xtreme Trepidation It was noted Raw had a big long head start ahead of Nitro and WCW did beat them I think straight away, can't be arsed to check the numbers. Do they not know all the smart marks know what the empire is doing, says a lot about what they think, and they are making AEW into the underdog which is unwise. Also it's 99.9% pointless as technically it makes no difference this day and age, it's just for shits and giggles who gets more viewers and to top up that corporate ego. The only empire shite I'm watching are some of the ppvs, some docs, and the first FOXdown to see what it looks like. |

There's a lot of negativity in here. I've only read the last 30 or so responses, and I get this is a WWE-centric thread, but my suggestion to those of you hating the current WWE product is to check out other promotions. AEW has been mentioned and it's shiny and new and has lots of promise but there's also companies like New Japan (really easy to access online and cheap too) for people looking for more quality sports like content, MLW (available for free on YouTube across the globe) for people looking for a more grimey ECW-lite presentation, Ring of Honor's website allows you to view their lastest TV shows for free (although the production is shite and can be jarring if you're only really used to WWE), CMLL has a very active YouTube channel but no English commentary...
There's more out there is the point I'm making. If WWE isn't giving you want you want, don't give up on wrestling as a whole, just see if you can find it somewhere else. A few years back I went from watching everything ROH, TNA and WWE were putting out to watching almost nothing - ROH was stale, TNA was continually making a mess of everything they touched and WWE was just frustrating the crap out of me. I thought I'd fallen out of love with wrestling - it turned out I'd just fallen out of love with what I had access too. I widened my net and now I regularly watch New Japan (I'm behind with the G1, but still), I catch the WWE pay-per-views and watch none of their TV because the hype packages do enough to keep me up to date and I don't have to worry about being bored to death and having my intelligence insulted for five hours every week, I also try and catch the occasional other shows from smaller Japanese groups, I check in with lucha when I can, I try to keep up with what's going on with the indy's, I watch the NXT shows as much as possible (and I'm terrified for the move to USA and a 2 hour weekly runtime - but also cautiously optimistic) and I'm invested in AEW succeeding. WWE does the spectacle of the big shows better than anyone and they have a hugely talented roster, but wrestling is so healthy right now. If Junior's booking is leaving you numb, don't fret, just have a bit of a look around at what else is available out there and you might discover something you really love. I know I did. Heck, if you're not sure where to start looking, sling me a PM and I'll see if I can help. The world needs more wrestling fans and with Little Vinny doing everything he can to seemingly drive us all off, we have to look after each other and make sure people aren't abandoning ship for the wrong reasons. |
