Example, you can't search for Melissa May,so you need to go through all the Melissas.

This is already the case in PATM. Other sections have less strict rules. Specifically prohibiting this practice would be very difficult to enforce, just like a general ban of custom videos. It would also have other implications.

We've replaced Zippyshare with 1fichier. Additional hosts have been discussed, though they didn't make it on the list of allowed hosts yet.

I'll have a look at the hosts you've mentioned later. I can already tell you though that send.cm and zippysha.re basically have zero chance of being approved.

This is a technical limitation by the software, I don't think that we can change that, even if we wanted. This is also a performance consideration.

It's not the worst example though, going through all the Melissas is certainly doable. You can subscribe to the thread once you've found it, for easier access later.

There are other names that aren't searchable at all, with three letter first and last names. Worst example I can think of right now is Rae Lil Black. Because of some unfortunate circumstances, Black is also not a searchable word. She has RaeLil and/or RaeLilBlack in the thread title to make it searchable. So, if you come across names like that, it might be worth trying to search for these combinations.

2 and 3 letter searches will never be allowed the forum software kinda sucks it is a older version. This version searches to not work to well to be able to allow 2 or 3 letter searches the forum software would have to be changed to Mybb or IPB and this will never happen.

Mybb is the only forum software getting updates every 6 to 8 weeks or so most other forum software are not that active any more.

It seems not much can be changed due to software limitations. At least it gets the job done which matters most.

There would be too many results if we allowed 3 letter searches never mind 2 and this place would grind to a halt; and you'd get worse results as 'Melissa May' would give you all the 'Melissas' and all the 'Mays.'

Obviously most people don't search this thread to see whether their suggestions have already been made first.

I know I’ve mentioned this somewhere before ... It would be so very nice ... and COURTEOUS ... if Mods / S-Mods could let us know when they yank out one of our posts. Also maybe just possibly if they could leave the note where the post used to be like when you delete a post.
