The other issue is of course depending on which country or county or state etc it occurred you might have differing police attitudes. It can range from good where the cops will see this as serious assault and he will be charged with battery and assault to sadly complete deliberate neglect and responsibility because she is a porn whore and deserves being dead etc.. if May has any brains she should fire the her agent or handler immediately and move on.

The problem is most of these girls think there's no other (easy) way to make money, so they become desperate. They want the job bad enough that they are willing to throw away rights they should have naturally or at least would have if they had some sort of union.

Another related problem is that no girl is special enough to demand special treatment. Sure, some top stars get treated and paid better but there's a limit. It's not like a top athlete in any sport that can stand their ground because he knows his team needs him to succeed and make money. Porn girls don't have that luxury because no matter how hot a girl is, there's a newer, younger, hotter one coming to take her spot, willing to do things the one before her didn't.

Because of these reasons, porn producers hold all the power and it doesn't help that the agents for the performers are in cahoots with the producers for mutual benefits, even though the agent is supposed to look out for the best interests of the performers. Agents only make money if the producers hire the agent's girls, so obviously the agent is going to meet the demands of the producers.

The only way a union happens is if the government steps in and does it themselves. They'd watch over the industry and make sure girls aren't put into positions in which they can be taken advantage of. It'd be quite the undertaking but definitely possible. However, every time the government wants to get involved, the industry threatens to move to another country or even to international waters.

In the end, it'd only work if the girls themselves took a stand and that probably won't happen.
