WWE released Alberto Del Rio today, following talk that Del Rio was rumored to leave the promotion any day now. It's interesting to note that WWE did not wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Del Rio commented on his departure on Twitter, noting that things ended on positive terms:

My business relationship with @WWE has come to an end in good terms...thanks for the opportunities they gave me.

In good terms meaning thanks for my new wife. Opportunities meaning thanks for agreeing to let me out of my contract.

Ha! I haven't seen Smackdown in weeks but that was pretty good. I love how Heath still has 3MB music, like 2 years after they broke them up.

As for Paige and Del Rio, they've always seemed like the types to do whatever they felt like. Not surprised they both left.

With the big win with Rhyno at Backlash last night, Heath Slater became the first WWE Superstar to hold both current versions of the Tag Team Titles. Slater previously held the current tag titles used on RAW with Justin Gabriel.
