Yeah, I do hear where you're coming from, Colin. At one point, being a multi-time champ meant something. Harley Race, 7 time NWA champ ... Dusty Rhodes, 3 time champ ... Bret Hart, 5 time champ. Other than Flair, no one really had an excessive amount of title reigns.
Then the Attitude/Monday Night War era happened, and all of a sudden titles were swapped every few months, even weeks. Edge being champ twice as much as Hart is scary. I'd love it if the rest of the year had fewer title changes, and fewer repeat champions. Keep it on Miz for a while, and then give it to Morrison for a while, maybe even Danielson for a stretch. On Smackdown, have Edge lose it to Del Rio and then swap it among him, Ziggler, Barrett, etc. |

Since I am a huge Torrie fan--here is a little something....
The following are some highlights from a new Miami Herald article centered around former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson: After spending more than nine years in the business, former World Wrestling Entertainment diva Torrie Wilson made the decision to walk away from the ring. With the physical toll and demanding schedule the blonde bombshell had reached a breaking point in 2008. Wilson saw the adjustment to home life an easy transition. “It wasn’t hard for me at all,” said Wilson, who underwent surgery and physical therapy on her back. “I was so run down from traveling that I loved every second of it. Maybe by the year-and-a-half mark, I probably started getting a little bored being at home but was able to schedule a few trips when I wanted to go somewhere. “It’s also always hard to have friends outside the wrestling business; so it was nice to cultivate friendships and do a few things ‘normal’ people are able to do. “[With the back], I still find that I do everything I did before. I can run and workout and everything, but it’s not something I would ever think about risking going back and getting back into the ring. The thought of taking a back bump scares me.” And here's one more excerpt from the piece: The Playboy cover girl has an advisory for fans meeting her at signings. “It’s crazy to believe since I did so much in wrestling and having posed for Playboy twice that I would be kind of prudish,” said Wilson. “A fan came in one time with a bunch of photos from Playboy from the inside. He just kind of threw them on the table to get signed. I was so embarrassed and kind of hid under the table. I wanted to cover myself up. I don’t sign nude photos ever. All day long I felt bad for the fan, but I just don’t do it. It was not a fun experience. I just hope that doesn’t happen again.” For info on Wilson’s Diva Trim, visit divatrim net Check out the complete article online at MiamiHerald com.

A title reign should last some time. And there always have been top tier guys who just "exchanged" titles but they held on to them longer. And other guys always got huge (if not bigger) reactions without ever holding the title.(which made them good contenders for the belt holders). So I say keep it on some guys longer and don`t pass it on along the entire locker room
On another topic. What do you think about Wades new group "The Core". Barrett as the leader worked for Nexus but we`ll see how this "all are equal in this group" will work out. And I think Heath Slater should not be allowed near a microphone ever |

Great Khali involved in shooting in India
WWE wrestler The Great Khali -- real name Dalip Singh -- and his bodyguard were involved in a shooting at the home of a senior Indian politician on Friday, according to India's most prestigious 24-hour news channel, Aaj Tak. Three people have been seriously wounded. The former WWE Champion was invited to the home of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab State Assemby, Mr. Satpal Gosain (BJP), as Mr. Gosain's grandson is a big fan of Khali. Local fans had assembled outside Mr. Gosain's residence in the city of Ludhiana, in anticipation of Khali's arrival. When Khali arrived with his entourage, the children approached him for autographs and photos. According to Aaj Tak, instead of receiving autographs and photos from the WWE wrestler, they received bullets. According to eyewitnesses, including the Deputy Speaker's relatives, Khali's bodyguard was hostile from the start. His bodyguard shoved children as soon as they tried to approach Khali for a photograph. A few minutes later, he grabbed a boy, and started to beat him. The crowd tried to rescue the boy from the bodyguard's clutches, and it is alleged that it was at that point that the bodyguard starting shooting into the crowd. Eyewitnesses put the blame squarely on Khali's bodyguard, who some allege had been drinking alcohol. Aaj Tak reports that the normally fearless Khali immediately fled the scene. Ludhiana police are being silent about the matter thus far, and no charges have been laid. This is the latest black eye for the WWE in terms of its wrestlers public conduct. Most recently, CM Punk was allegedly involved in a violent altercation with fans in Shreveport, Louisiana, one of them a child, and Alex Riley was booked for driving under the influence of alcohol in Florida.

Thanks to Ryan Winfield for sending in the following:
I attended the Smackdown brand house show at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo last night. Here are the results. Alberto Del Rio b. R-Truth via submission with his cross armbar. After the match, Del Rio did his speech about destiny and the Rumble, until Truth recovered and took him out. Dolph Ziggler came out to tell the crowd that the main event would be Kane vs. Edge for the championship where the crowd would chose the stipulation. JTG b. Tyler Reks via pinfall. Trent Beretta b. Drew McIntyre via rollup pin. Crowd was decidedly pro-McIntyre here. Afterwords, McIntyre attacked Beretta, Kelly Kelly makes the save. After Kelly slaps Drew and leaves the ring, he delivers the Future Shock to Beretta. Really good match. Cody Rhodes and Percy Watson ends in a no contest. Cody brought the doctor to the ring with him to attest to his broken nose, and Rhodes fought with a goggle type face mask to protect his nose. I would expect this spot to be repeated on Smackdown this week. A few minutes in, the Corre came out and Rhodes ran off as they beat down Watson. Big Show b. Wade Barrett via pinfall after chokeslam. Multiple Corre attempts at interference, yet Show fought off all of them. Beth Phoenix and Natalya b. LeyCool via submission with Kelly Kelly as special ref. Match ended after what could only be described as a double sharpshooter. Natalya stacked Layla and Michelle on top of each other and applied the sharpshooter to both at the same time. One of the cooler spots of the night. Afterwords, LeyCool attacks Kelly, and Hornswaggle comes out to make the save with a double stunner on LeyCool. Chris Masters b. Jack Swagger via submission using Master Lock. Crowd had zero reaction for either wrestler, and it may have been the most mundane, uneventful match I've seen in 20 years of attending live shows. Edge b. Kane via pinfall after a spear. The crowd voted for a hardcore match as the stipulation. Not much in the way of hardcore, but there was a lot of brawling in the crowd. After the match, Ziggler came down and said he didn't want to wait for the Rumble, he wanted his title shot tonight. Before he finished, he received a chokeslam from Kane. After Ziggler and Edge both got back to their feet, the ref rang the bell and Edge immediatley speared Ziggler for the win in a 6 second match. Biggest Pops 1. Big Show 2. Edge 3. R-Truth Biggest Heat 1. Del Rio 2. The Corre 3. Dolph Ziggler

With 40 entrants, it'll be that much tougher to pick a winner in the Rumble this year. I have, jeez, like 4 different people that I could see winning, and that's not including a few returnees and a few other longer-shots that I could see winning.
I also think the handicap match might lead to the debut of (the former) Awesome Kong. I'm just not sure if it'd be her with Natalya or with LayCool. (Then again, I had a conversation with a friend about how the Gail Kim/Bella Twins incident last night on Raw could lead to Kong's debut ... I think I just want her in the WWE as quickly as possible!) And itsbaba asked a question a month or so ago that I'm not sure was answered: Are we allowed to post WWE videos in this thread? I did a year or so ago (some might remember "Burtog's Road to Wrestlemania" from two years ago) but I don't honestly know if that's Ok still or not. If so, I have some videos to share ... but I don't want to get banned/suspended, or make waves for PS. |

I would PM one of the mods and see what the6 have to say. I have posted a few youtube vids in the past but thats about it as far as wwe stuff goes. I know there are diva vids in the models section. Did you catch raw lastnight? Too bad Cena did not let them beat the heck out of each other . I know its a script but that would have been a better one
