What TV Shows Are You Currently Following?

I have just finished watching Wednesday, an 8 part miniseries on Netflix.

Four of these episodes directed by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice (1988), Edward Scissorhands (1990), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Ed Wood (1994), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), and Dark Shadows (2012). Burton also directed the superhero films Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), the sci-fi film Planet of the Apes (2001), the fantasy-drama Big Fish (2003), the musical adventure film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and the fantasy films Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016)), who is also an executive producer.

After being expelled from regular high school for releasing piranha in the school swimming pool (resulting in the loss of a testicle by someone who was bullying her brother Pugsey), 15 year old Wednesday Addams (she turns 16 in Ep 6) enrols at Nevermore Academy, a school for monstrous misfits once attended by her parents, Gomez and Morticia.

She is played by 20 YO Jenna Ortega, and the cast includes Christina Ricci (who played Wednesday in the original film version), and Catherine Zeta-Joes among others.

Struggling to fit in her new surrounding, and coming to grips with her psychic abilities (she has visions), Wednesday becomes witness to several murders committed by a terrifying monster, that she decides to investigate.

Good cast and good use of gothic locations and set design make this a worthwhile watch.

leela (futurama) wiki says that she is one of the few "primarily live-action" characters on the show.

sagal also mentions how her acting on the show is inherently "a different experience" compared to the rest of the cast.

what does this mean? i've watched a few eps and she seems as animated as the rest of them! those quotes would imply some sort of roger rabbit/space jam setup.

I agree: a very good show about the unit that inspired the creation of special forces operators worldwide.

Yes indeed, i'm watching with an open mind and not to critique it as i'm sure there lots of inaccuracies within its plot. Nevertheless, my wife and i have both enjoyed it and that's what matters on cold dark evenings

Yes: some of the characters are a composite of various different people, but the military actions depicted are spot-on.

Just finished Netflix's Wednesday, I adored it from beginning to end.
Excellent acting, writing, score (Danny Elfman & Chris Bacon) visuals and overall atmosphere.

I would highly recommend!
